I didn’t see anything conclusive that his skate was preventing the pad from making a save.

If kane was that deep in the crease and the goal was scored on a shot from the point or the face off dot I would understand but the puck was in the crease at the time. Kane had every right to be there as painful as it is for me to say that.

I guess they really can't beat the Oilers.

They've beaten them twice so far and they still lead the series. They definitely need to lock it down a lot better in 3rd periods when they have a lead. But they have the tools to beat the clowns from Dumpsterville.

Their best hope was the goal stick getting knocked away at the beginning of the sequence but that didn’t affect the play either. Goalie was laying on his stomach when it went in.

I hate the Oilers more than life itself but I struggle to find any justification to call that goaltender interference.
Look at it closer. Did Kanes stick actually touch the puck before it crossed the line. There was a mess of bodies and stick in the crease. Can anyone say for certain that Kanes stick actually contacted the puck before it crossed the line?

Does it matter who put it in? The kick hit the pad and then bounced back, and then something else put it in. Does it matter what as long as it wasn’t Kane’s foot?

Yes, if the last motion from the scoring team is a kicking motion then it’s no good.

I thought it was pretty clear Kane got his stick on it.

Yes. The puck didn’t magically speed up. It was practically trickling when he kicked it but then got propelled into the back of the net. Quite clear a stick made contact.

Not too mad. Critical error late in the game led directly to the loss. Without that chances are pretty good they still pull out the win. Unfortunately it was too late in the game to answer back.

LA has still exposed the Oilers and made them second guess their defensive/goaltending vulnerability and whether they can hold a lead at all. And both goalies have cratered any sense of trust.

They're still figuring out how to play 60 minutes, but even 40 minutes of strong play in each game has them up 2-1.

Even if it's a 40 minute effort next game their chances of going up 3-1 are good.

Oilers look like hot feces, and their only hope is to desperately play as much as possible in the other end because they're Swiss cheese in their zone.

Yep. Plus the Coilers also got another goal that shouldn’t have counted when Crysaitl clearly interfered after the face off.

I never did see a replay that showed Kane’s stick touch the puck after he kicked it.

Am I missing something? Aren’t the Kings up 2-1?

Yes but LA looked like garbage in the third period. Ice was tilted. Played not to lose.

But they're still up 2-1 in the series so they can beat the Oilers. And could have easily been up 3-0 if Hiller didn't take a stupid risk with the challenge.

Win the next one and then win it at home

Oilers stole a win...did any of the series go 3-0 other than the Leafs?

Yes, the league is definitely gonna help a small market Canadian team over the second biggest market in the US lol. There's so much to criticize and make fun of the Oilers for and every year for some reason people actually think the League plays favorites.

Woke up disappointed this morning, that was one that got away. Garbage goal and quite frankly a dumb challenge to give the Oilers some life.

I guess it was called no goal on the ice and they thought they saw something? I don't get it.

Yes, I am sure the league is telling officials that hey you know this player that most Americans have not heard of, make sure you favor his team.

This.

Doesn't.

Matter.

When will people read the damn rule? If you are in the crease, and you make contact with the goalie inside the crease, and a goal is then scored, the goal is disallowed. The only circumstance where that isn't true is if you're forced into the crease. Not guided in, forced in, as in you're clearly pushed or hit in that direction.

I guess maybe they must have determined that was the case because Kopitar is right there with Kane and is shoving him, but usually it requires more.

Can you please share a link or post the actual rule? Would love to read it and can't search for it atm.
