The players should be turning on their coach right now. Kick him out of the room.

The worst thing about the tying goal is that Kuemper should have had the puck covered up on the left side of the crease before it went behind the net. It looked like was wearing friggin’oven mitts..

Going to be hard for the Kings to finish this series with these third period meltdowns.

It’s a total lack of situational awareness. What video did they have that would have said “challenge that”?
They could still be playing tonight if not for that terrible game management.

The challenge was dumb but the way the Kings played the first 13minutes of that period was worse. Terrible

Did you watch the whole game? He made like a dozen 10 bell saves.

Not sure if that goal counts if it’s Blake Coleman, just saying….
Right skate was contacting the left pad in the crease.

Oh well. Them's the breaks. On to the next one. Go Kings. Now we have 48 hours listening to the grotesque ass-kissing of the media. Spector will be...no, don't want to think about that.

So what that grease pigs won this game, they are still trail the series, the Kings still out played them this game and it took a dumb challenge from their coach to lose that game. If they keep playing the same way, there is no way the grease pigs can come back.

It was a Hail Mary challenge. You don’t make that call late into the 3rd period of a playoff game. The risk was far too high given the video evidence. I just don’t understand what the rationale was for risking the powerplay vs regrouping and trying to win in OT.

That's the thing, if it's not the playoff against the Oilers, the goal wouldn't have counted. But it's the Oilers, Hiller should know the league are not gonna call back the tying goal. If it's in reverse, Kings trailing and that's the tying goal, the league will have no problem disallowing the goal.

Knew we couldn't rely on the Kings.
They get up a goal and completely stop skating the entire 3rd period until they got scored on.
I guess they really can't beat the Oilers.

The only way you challenge that is if it was the Edmonton go-ahead goal and the game was completely one sided or something.
But for the tying goal where you've outplayed them? Baffling decision.

You have better looks than me. Is his skate not contacting the pad? He’s in the crease on his own. In a regular season game that is probably a 50/50 call. Not saying I agree with the challenge, but I wouldn’t be surprised if there is a non-goal that they can point to recently that’s very similar. Inconsistency on these calls is ultimately the problem.

The puck was in the crease. He had every right to be there. He whacks the pad but it didn’t affect the goalies ability to save.
Their best hope was the goal stick getting knocked away at the beginning of the sequence but that didn’t affect the play either. Goalie was laying on his stomach when it went in.
I hate the Oilers more than life itself but I struggle to find any justification to call that goaltender interference.

Skate on the pad affects the ability to make the save. It’s not the stick to me.
Just to expand on this, I imagine the process is that the video guy studies all of the calls made in the league this season. Based on the video he radios in his opinion and maybe a probability to the coach, who ultimately makes a gut call with that evidence in hand.
I don’t think it was a flippant long shot, they had to be thinking a specific thing gave them better than a coin flip of it being called off, otherwise the decision makes no sense.
