Right.
They are getting old as dirt and eventually they will fall off a cliff. The Canucks had 109 points last year and how good did they do this year... ?

I'm so happy Hanifin signed long term with them.

A physically punishing and long playoff run could have a similar impact. If guys like Stone, Pietrangelo or Eichel miss significant time early on, who knows what might happen.

It’s not the same situation. The Knights also have way more roster depth. They’ve got legit center depth, a strong defensive group, and multiple goalies who can carry games. Vancouver, on the other hand, crumbled when Demko got hurt and traded away their best forward for nothing in return.

They also are not that old. Half the league has an average of 29 years old for their roster, including us in a few months.

Plus, Vegas has always made smart, aggressive moves to stay competitive.

I don’t like the Knights at all, but I think it’s wishful thinking that they’ll drop off dramatically next year.

Look at the ages for their key guys next year.

Stone 33 years old
Hertl 31
Theodore 30
Pietrangelo 35
McNabb 34

Eichel will be 28, Barbashev 29.

The youngest out of their top 10 scorers would be Dorofeyev at 24 and Howden at 27.

I mean I guess they play in our crappy division also, but I think our Vegas pick will be higher than ours for next year.

VGK’s #1 (Eichel 28) and #3 (Hertl 31) forwards are still in their prime. As are their #1 (Theodore 30) and #3 (Hanifin 29) d-men. They’ll likely see a drop-off next season, but it won’t be a dramatic one. They’ll still be a playoff team.

He's grown so much since leaving Florida. There he was meek and a secondary voice at best. Always deferred to guys like Ekblad or Barkov.

When he got here, someone must've got in his ear and said "this is your team" because he's acted that way ever since. Just a brilliant all-around player and person. Such a nice result from the Tkachuk deal.

Oh Angus
You lose again

Of course I expressed displeasure many times about professional athletes not taking any responsibility after a horribly under achieving season and playing the “Im not having fun” card instead .
Yep
I don’t respect that at all

And
I will never advocate losing on purpose.
But
Go ahead “participation ribbon” Wally. Keep digging
Just like your hero

All that said, Im very happy to be a fan of this group. I respect hard work and positive attitudes. They overachieved this year, they may take a step back next season but I’ll still be supportive if the effort/attitude remains

Watching Andersson’s exit interview.

Looked more like a goodbye. Didn’t sound like a guy that thought he was coming back

The ages (when next season gets underway) of Calagry top 6 scorers last year:

Kadri 35
Huberdeau 32
Weegar 31
Coronato 23
Coleman 34
Backlund 35

For many years we have referred to fans up north as worse than classless because they have cheered for losses to get draft picks. Now a player simply calls out fans who cheer for their own team to lose and you are offended? You really want these guys shooting on their own net next year, eh? Classy.

That's pretty misleading.

Sharangovich was tied with Backlund for points and had injuries and off year. Zary would been top 6 without I juries. Frost will be in a full season mix next year.

Such a great feeling after a busy Saturday to be catching up on garbage bag day 24 hours later and then seeing and knowing that you are about to take the whole thing off the rails and wreck it.

Thanks

Farabee also had an off year after putting up 50 points the prior season.
