Think Kerins gets a long look next season. A bit surprised he didn't get another call up this season given he's consistently led the Wranglers offensively.
No idea where Poirier fits into the Flames' plans, though.

Agreed - Stromgren is exactly where he needs to be. Hopefully he take another massive step.
Defense next year will be extremely competitive. Will be interesting to see which of our prospects is able to step up.
Under contract assuming no movement: Weegar, Bahl, Anderson, Pachal, Bean, Miro
Prospects pushing: Parekh, Poirier, Brzustewicz, Solovyov, Kuznetsov, Grushnikov
I know guys wanna ship out Anderson and Bean but I'd be extremely weary of having to dress potentially three rookie defenseman at the same time.

I'd counter the desire to dress less rookies on the Blueline with the fact that you can't get much worse than the 30th ranked scoring team. Flames need offense from everywhere and should plan to open the game up a bit with the influx of offensive talent.
We do have an offensive D man logjam potentially as well with Poirier, BRZ, Parekh. There needs to be an equal part Bahl to Parekh through the D corps.
That being said, the Flames need to snazzy up the FW group a bit as well. I don't really want them to rely on Kadri putting up 30g a season for 4 more years or Huberdeau bobbing over and under 60p the rest of his tenure.
Need a little sizzle in the scoring steak, some flash .
There's spots in the current FW deployment where that can be improved.

Surprised Kerins didn't get the call. Attitude problem?

It's their second-to-last regular season game.

4 points in 5 games but he doesn't skate fast or something. 33 goals for the Wranglers.
Best offensive instincts I've seen after Coronato for guys called up in the last couple years.
I think the Wranglers have 2 more games? So maybe they need him there. But Kerins deserves another look.

We must have been watching different players. He looked OK, I wouldn’t say his offensive instincts looked like anything particularly special.

Skating is the issue for Kerins....If he works with Fujita he'll get on the team. Coronato is now an NHL skater becsuse of her.
Brz easily replaces RAZ...BUT! Who replaces thr 3rd most blocked shots in NHL and leads his team like Raz? Hunter Bruczkevich can cover alot of warts but not all of them.
I really hope the emotional disregulation towards dressing PAREKH subsides . He's NOT ready for the jump to the NHL. Period. He needs work. Muscle . Reps.
The outrage from unknowledgeable fans comparing him to Makar , Caufield, Hughes is hugely over played.
Hes still a teenager. He'd be successful for a few games....until the adrenaline wears off . Then....,mistake, injury , + - prone.
Let him grow.
Hunter Bruczkevich just did ....,let's see how he does in playoffs . He's another great pick up and I think a better 200 ft player
As for thr rest . We have alot to be excited about.
Craig Conroy . Thanks for an exciting year. Promise to come. The patience to make good decisions and for showing everyone your plan will succeed.
Rushing anything at this point is foolish......,,Lastly .....MacKenzie Weegar is this teams needed Captain.
Give him the C ....well spoken , articulate, smart, cerebral, student of the game and a warrior . Florida shouldn't have given up on him . Without him Huberdeau would be a mess.

I think we should keep the band together, including Raz, going into next season. The run this team went on to end the season was nothing short of impressive, and I think they've earned another kick at the can. The team was dealing with injuries to guys like Zary, Sharky, and it appears Raz was playing through a foot injury. Imagine this year's team, but healthier, and Parekh helping on the PP and 3 on 3!
If the team isn't in a playoff spot come next deadline, then at that time you look at moving Raz and possibly others.
My 2c.

Any FAs or targets that fit the LHS Dman with size? Open Q to anyone

Blocking shots isn't something to be super proud about, Kris Russell is always made fun of because he was caved in and laying on the ice blocking shots.

Not sure if he's FA but there was rumors at the deadline the Flames were poking around Jamie Oleksiak.
Gavrikov is an FA but I don't know if his next contract is worth it for CGY given they'll need space for RFAs in the next 3 years.

I was interested in seeing Grushnikov as well, he is a young player I am excited to see what he can do in the NHL Could be a good contender for a 3rd pairing guy.

There's usually a few UFAs that fit the bill, a guy like Gavrikov for example. But that doesn't really fit the mid-20's and under crowd that Conroy will be looking for. Will have to look at some Group 6 UFAs, or more likely, a trade target and hope you get lucky getting another Bahl.

I don't think you'll see Kadri sitting out. He's played all 82 games for the past two seasons. Not sure why they'd sit him out and end that streak.

Trading Andersson and signing Gavrikov would be shrewd IMO.
To me Gavrikov could be to Parekh, what Hamrlik was to Phaneuf.

I think he had some nice touches offensively.
Struggled in his last few games on the other side of the puck.
The issue is slotting, as he wasn't going to move into the top six, he didn't fit on a Backlund checking line so he had to cut his teeth on the fourth line or with the Wranglers.
His fourth line deployment was rough.
Just needs more time.
