Taking a while to get to 5000

Obviously sucks to be out but tomorrow will still be fun.
Also, any chance they play Wolf? I read he could still beat Vernon's rookie record I think for wins?

TBH I think it might be possible the rules do change.
I think the CHL is going to revisit the NHL / AHL transfer agreement to help stop all the movement to the NCAA.
They want these young guys signing NHL contracts - because once they sign NHL contracts they can't go the NCAA route.
But these young guys are going to be less likely to sign NHL deals when they know they can't go to the NCAA if they sign a NHL contract, and also aren't eligible for the AHL until they are 20.
Would be prudent for both the CHL and the NHL to allow for exemptions to the 20 year old rule for the AHL with the NCAA eligibility in mind now.

Lol rewriting the rules. They literally already gave this exemption to Wright. No rule re-write required.
They may, as Supermatt points out, but if anything the flames will just seek an exemption.
But they definitely WANT him to play in the AHL.

My guess is that he and his agent will wait to see what other offers are like first. Is there a clearer path to a starter position elsewhere?

Our favorite local oiler fan seems to have some connection to the Sharks and suggested they have a lot of interest in him.
Which would mean Vladar would find himself in a similar role - where he the back-up to an emerging starter (Askarov) just as he was here. So he probably sees his workload reduce over time as Askarov takes over.
Which is probably the best he can hope for. He's just not a #1. But he seems like a good tandem-mate with a young goalie.
I would explore re-signing him here if he has interest, if only because Wolf seems comfortable with him.

Morton should be gunning for Rooney's job. No disrespect to Rooney who by all accounts is a respected team mate.

This.
I think a calm and big goalie is a good foil to the more athletic Wolf.
I worry about a Cooley - Wolf pairing just because Cooley seems the opposite of calm lol and I think you want a good calm goalie to pair with Wolf.

Morton and King probably both should be internal options for 4th line C next year.

Wright got the exemption because he had played 4 years of Junior due to exceptional status letting him play as a 15 year old.
I could see NHL teams maybe offering more money if the requirement was relaxed to like 180 games including playoffs before a team could take a player out of Junior.

I can definitely see a scenario where Calgary goes with both Bruz and Parekh next year.
Andersson's time here is all but done most likely.
Bean/Hanley/Miromanov all can be replaced.
Would be nice to get another solid denfensive LHS guy with size/grit to protect the kids.

Stromgren has exceeded expectations this year, IMO. Nearly doubled his offensive production. Think he starts to get regular call ups next season. Also think the only reason Morton got the call up over him is he's four years older and the Flames want to see what they have with him.
Think Kerins gets a long look next season. A bit surprised he didn't get another call up this season given he's consistently led the Wranglers offensively.
No idea where Poirier fits into the Flames' plans, though.

Yeah, I think maybe Porier gets moved. He's been passed on the depth chart.

No, he would need to play 10 NHL regular season and/or playoff games for that to happen.
An example of this is Sam Bennett in 2015. He made his Flames debut late in the season (last game iirc?) and then played enough playoff games to burn the first year of his ELC. The topic was hotly debated on CP and in the hockey media at the time, Hartley and Treliving were each asked about resting Bennett in the playoffs in order to let his contract slide.
