This is ####ing nuts. They’ve basically jammed open the door for bad actors to access any system they want, and Russia is already having a field day.

Even though it’s horrible for my mental health I do check out the comments on a few MAGA YouTube channels. So many comments have got to be bots. The sheer number of them is so disturbing.

Trying to tell these people that the emphasis on waste, fraud, illegals raping women on a mass scale are all distractions. It’s hopeless.

As for Harris- I had my own criticisms of her campaign. But hey you can’t do that… you’re a racist and misogynist, how dare you. Isn’t the purpose of campaigning to win over the other side? I truly hope she makes a comeback. But AOC is such a badass.

I’m just sick and angry over this. The stupidity, ignorance, and downright evil of “my fellow Americans” is not actually surprising, but disappointing nonetheless.

And Leavitt should be in a Max Hardcore-style video. There. I said it. And I only know about that monster thanks to David Foster Wallace’s
“Big Red Son.” Thanks DFW, I guess.

"CVE is a cornerstone of cybersecurity, and any gaps in CVE support will put our critical infrastructure and national security at unacceptable risk," Luta Security founder and CEO Katie Moussouris, who pioneered Microsoft's vulnerability disclosure program, told The Register.

"All industries worldwide depend on the CVE program to keep their heads above water when it comes to managing threats, so an abrupt halt like this would be like depriving the cybersecurity industry of oxygen and expecting it to spontaneously sprout gills," Moussouris said.

This is fundamentally what pretty much any computer security company is built on these days. If I wanted to cause chaos in the west before attacking their infrastructure, destroying MITRE would be the first step. We are being slow marched into oblivion, and no one in the US seems capable of stopping it.

He is a tall guy, probably ~6'1" when you look at photos of the one like him standing beside Trudeau. He may have even measured 6'3" at a younger age with shoes on, but people in their 70's / 80's do shrink a bit.

Apparently CISA has decided to extend the contract at the last minute.

The potential end to the 25 year old CVE program — which is globally relied upon to identify and mitigate security flaws — was viewed by some experts as part of a cost-cutting drive by the Trump administration.

However, in an eleventh hour turnaround, the U.S. Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency said it had extended the contract with MITRE. “The CVE Program is invaluable to cyber community and a priority of CISA. Last night, CISA executed the option period on the contract to ensure there will be no lapse in critical CVE services," a CISA spokesperson told me over email. "We appreciate our partners’ and stakeholders’ patience.”

I still travel to the US regularly for work. Not going to lie, this stuff is in the back of my mind these days.

I guess I'll keep my passport on my person at all times.

That Newsom video reminds me of the one Adam Schiff posted.

While I appreciate the sentiment, I think these videos show that a tourism boycott may be very effective. While I don't like hurting our internal "allies" in the U.S., it kind of has to happen if we want to light a fire under them to make change.

Still openly cheering for a 2nd great depression. Total lack of tourism would be a big part of that.

Want to see every small business owner who voted for Trump to appear in LeopardsAteMyFace.

It's the only way most people will learn elections have consequences. Needs to be brutal, and deep for it to have an effect on the next generation of voters.

We know we are great. That’s where they went wrong here. We know our worth and we aren’t ####ing around with this nonsense of being mistreated and threatened. No amount of ass kissing is going to fix it.

Fix your ####, call us when THAT is done.

Knowing that America's alleged centrists are actually pretty far centre right you truly think prolonged and sustained economic pain is going to make an electorate shift liberal? Bold theory let's see how that plays out.

I definitely get the sense that they are sweating over the tourism boycott even more than tariffs in some regions.

Andrew Chang has a good piece recently uploaded that talks about the economic fallout and it sounds like it could be significant.

I already cancelled a 2 week trip to Oregon that was planned for Jul, going to Vancouver Island instead.

I booked a flight to Denver before the orange baboon went nuts, after that I'm not returning until that clown is out of office. I'm thinking there are quite a bit of people that made plans and booked flights before this lunacy, after those trips are done I imagine US travel for Canadians will dry up even more.
