If he were a defenceman, they wouldn't sign him. Everybody knows the Oilers need MOAR FORWARDS!

Players the Oilers "upgraded" their roster with:

......................Gms..G..A...Pts..+/-
Jeff Skinner.........68 16 12 28 -1
Viktor Arvidsson...63 14 12 26 -3

Troy Stecher........64 _3 _4 _7 -1
Total.................344 44 50 94 -16

So, these 5 changes, described by the Sportsnet Oilers media as a GM Masterclass, is the equivalent of losing a player scoring 35 goals, 78 assists for 113 points who was a +111. Good thing those incoming players accepted less money to play for the Oilers.
Sorry for the late post. I like that the players that left have a better plus/minus than the saviours have points.

Here’s a possible reason why Evander Kane couldn’t return to the line up: his girlfriend delivered their new baby a month early and he was tasked with parenting three other children.

You know what else is no good? Using social media and presumably toilet paper rags like people magazine, to say how much you love and gush about your significant other. Why would anyone care besides the other person? How about telling them in person instead of “everything that I have to say to you, I already posted on instagram.” Or “hopefully you had your phone with you so you can see how I feel about you.”

I know it’s yell at clouds material, but it bugs me.

Also no good.

The great part about an Ekholm injury is now they have their excuse to stay the course next season, because injuries were the only reason they didn't win the cup this time around.

I just don't understand why McDavid would want to continue to waste his career there. Go play in NYC or LA or Chicago dude.

The guy is clueless. Monster Truck is only elite if you're an Oilers fan who loves over the top homer broadcasting.

The main reason the Oilers sit higher than the Jets is our model valuing process over results. Edmonton has the best expected goal differential of any team in the NHL, while the Jets sit 12th. That said, Edmonton’s numbers have dipped over the past couple of months compared to the first half of the season.
Only Edmonton would move up in the power rankings while their numbers dip and they lose their only defenseman.

That stat is hilarious and just means that Winnipeg has a far superior goalie.

Even the one game when I was cheering for them to beat St Louis I found it hard to listen to Michaels. Way too over the top and grating when/how he does it. His surface lexicon is also limited and... strange. A few very non hockey descriptors that he cycles through.

The Caps guy does that style of pbp much better and seems more in control. Seems to understand that he's calling hockey.

yeah process over results seems like a way of saying we don't think the goalie is part of the team

He called WWE but they needed someone a lot more calm. Probably.

It means, ‘They're doing the wrong things, but doing them very well and therefore we think they should win more.’
