Nice showing Alex!
Nice to see a guy able to do that too without just muscling the ball out of the park. Just a nice, smooth, purdy swing.

That being said, if he could add on just a bit of muscle he could probably up his power more.

Ha, nice to see Eric Brynes actually out in a kayak in the Cove in SF.

If anyone was gonna beat Rios last night glad it was Vladdy. I loved watching him as a 'Spo, could only imagine how much more HYPE he'd get as a player if he was on the east coast in a big market.

LOL, personally I have no problems with Bonds. In my opinion he is one of LOTS of players (which include Pitchers) who could be suspected of using some sort of performance inhanced drugs. Bonds is just an easy target in which the Media have gone crazy over. I thought it was a decent interview in which Bonds seemed somewhat personable.

When / if A-Rod breaks the HR record in 6-8 years.... wonder what the comments will be then.

I'm well aware that he admitted to a grand jury that he took steroids. He says he didn't know it though (sure, Barry)

LOL, I never stated he did not take steriods.... In my view there is or was numerous players in the league who took "steriods" and Bonds is just the easiest guy to target.

Take a look at the stat's over the last 10 years the increase in HR is amazing from a bunch of players (i.e. 50 HR club).

I don't disagree with you on that, flambers. Look at guys like Pudge Rodriguez, Sammy Sosa, Tejada, Beltre, Giambi, sheffield, etc. There's a reason their numbers came down significantly in the last few years.

There's a chance I guess that A-Rod cheated but he doesn't look like someone who used HGH or steroids. It wouldn't be that intelligent for a SS to use roids as it affects your mobility. So unless he started when he moved to 3rd for the Yankees it's highly unlikely, and if he did it certainly didn't change his numbers.

On another note, A bluejay executive was on off the record last night (never seen the show just heard about it) and said Aaron Hill was going to be placed on the 15 Day DL due an Knee Injury.... hopefully this is not true if it is.... wow the Jays have had brutual luck. I would guess Adams would get called up to take his place.

Not true, some players (i.e. Pitchers) take Steriods to increase there strength I believe it also allows them to recover quickly from their last pitching performance. A player does not necessarily "bulk" up from performance enhanced drugs. Its done for many reason.........

However, I sure hope he has not done anything and this "steriod" age just goes away. Hopefully the MLB testing will work.

If Barry Bonds only had like 625 home runs right now, I think the media and fan hatred towards him wouldn't be nearly what it currently is. I don't think Barry without roids would be in the 750 home run range, but he'd still be a hall of fame calibre player. It is odd though how for years a guy like Griffey totally fell off the radar and he has had injuries, and he's playing in Cincinatti. But now that the game is supposedly cleaned up he's re-emerged as one of the better power hitters in the game still at his advanced age. That sort of speaks to me about just how many guys had inflated home run numbers in the past decade sort of thing.

I think you need to look at guys in the recent era who had a spike in their power numbers followed by similar drop. I'm think about the Brady Andersons of the world, who in '96 had more than twice as many HRs than in any other year of his entire career.

I only watched a couple innings of the ASG. I was really disgusted with how Buck and McCarver became apologists for MLB. Their argument boils down to "you don't know who was juiced and who wasn't, and there isn't even a test for 'the Clear', so you should ignore the steroids issue when considering players' legacies"
I agree that there is no way the public can say for sure who did and who didn't cheat. But that doesn't mean that I will ever rank them with players from the past who didn't have a biochemist helping them out.
