Thanks as this lead me to a super interesting link!

Likewise, Molson introduced Rickard’s Red in the early 1980s and initially labelled it as coming from the Capilano Brewing Company, though the beer is really made at Molson’s brewery in Vancouver, no different from any other.

Stella is a lager. So it has a reputation as a beer that people who don’t like the taste of beer drink just to get pissed (ie “lager louts” in the UK). Are any lagers really premium beers?

I’m struggling to think of places I go that don’t have decent beer on tap. Maybe Boston Pizza when the kids were younger? If it comes down to that, I’ll go with Coors Banquet.

Rickards needs to be tried for war crimes for the amount of headaches its doled out. $6.25 pitchers at Max's U of C Wednesdays with a pita pizza.

Rickards red - With more red comes more hangover!

Oh God....I remember those.

Jugs of Rickards. I remember climbing one of the trees on the outside patios after a few of those.

We used to each buy a jug and then an extra...'The Victory Jug!' Whoever finishes theirs first wins the Victory Jug.

We were very studious in those days...

Coors Light tastes like lightly flavoured water. I know this because - much to my chagrin - I've become a Coors Light drinker over the past couple years. Started just to have fewer calories, then kinda liked how you could have a few without a hangover, and now it's my go-to.

I'm just saying flavour-wise a Coors Light drinker will immediately flag a Stella as gross since we are used to a very mild taste.
Don't leave us hanging. Lets hear that story where you sucked off a skunk.

We had a Chinese dude in engineering that pretended to drink for some reason. To impress. He’d be first at Maxs pitchers for us and his rum and coke. Always suspected why he never got drunk if he actually drank. Waitress “another sprite”?. We knew it!

Great guy George Yee. We let him hear it and he didn’t have to pretend to drink anymore. You are actually better than us buds. Don’t forget that.

I finished a semester at UofC while I was still 17. As long as you had a Student ID they weren’t too concerned about your age at Dinnies Den. The number of $5.85 pitchers I had while underage was probably too high upon reflection.

I still remember my dad ordering Rickard's but he pronounced it "Ri-card" and the waitress couldn't stop laughing.

Rickards used to make a Honey Brown beer that was simply awesome...

I think I wept a bit when they stopped making it.

Like a lot of people here I prefer the darker beers these days.

Fuller flavor.

I got hooked on Negra Modelo when I was working in Mexico a few years back.

At 21$ a six pack here in Calgary, its a luxury drink now instead of a daily staple.

Not every day...

They're kinda like Lays Potato chips though.

You can't have just one...

The Math is this

"A beer" = 3 beers
"A couple of beers" = 5 beers
"A few beers" = anything between 6 and 15 beers

Life is cruel. I love farming, but last night I helped deliver a baby goat that just can't cling to life. its mom cleaning it like nothing was wrong. Poor thing died after 4 minutes, the small animal CPR I know was not helpful, of course today the mom is wondering where her baby is. You lose one or two every year, but it never gets easier.

I really couldn't imagine being a doctor or nurse in the maternity ward.

That anyone can drink beer in their 40s without promptly turning into Augustus Gloop is, frankly, amazing.

There's a vape shop near a place I take my daughter to once a week. The amount of litter around the place is disgusting. Vape packaging and lots of fast food bags, cups, wrappers. I can't help but judge the people who are constantly going in and out of that place.
