Weegar is +14 and 55% at even strength and leads us in points and giveaways.

Backlund is fine on the team going forward as the 4th line C.

I think Bahl is tracking well in becoming a 1st pair defensive defencemen with some underrated offence in him. A bit meaner than Tanev is, with somewhat better offensive abilities, but a high-value defensive presence out there. I am very impressed at where he is already, and in another couple of seasons, I bet he is going to a league-wide talking point. I think Bahl alone will be thought of as ripping off the Devils. Hope they hit a home-run on the pick too!

People have to remember this isnt a team that is built to win right now. This isn't the final product. This is a team that sold off a bunch of assets in the last 24 months and did one 'hockey trade' this season. I'm sure they have a target of 27/28 on putting a good product on the ice that is still trending upward.

So frustrations with the current roster or placements on the roster are a product of the team selling and not selling the future for half-ass fixes to plug holes.

The decision with Anderson this summer is a big one. If he wants an overpay he has to go.

There will be Challenges with getting better moving forward though, as the teams 3 best players (outside of Wolf) are all going to be declining moving forward. If not next season, by 27/28 for sure.

Bahl is less than a year older than Wolf and a year older than Zary...the "play the kids" crowd has some odd takes sometime.

Other than coronato I don’t see any in the organization. I think that’s where the cap space is going to go once they are finished signing the current players they want to keep.

You said, ‘I've seen enough of Mikael Backlund on this team.’ In other words, you don't want him on the team at all. When Dissentowner said he was perfectly fine as a 4C, you started going yabbut. That shows it's the player himself you object to, and not his position in the roster.

Flames need to improve the roster so Backlund isnt on the PP. He is FAR from the worst player. He wouldnt be the worst player on any team in the league.

Backlund should shuffle between 3rd and 4th line giving the circumstance as each game goes. He can still play PK also but shouldn't be on the powerplay anymore. Father time waits for no man.

Until Frost or some other centre can take on the top lines on other teams, Backlund will be getting second centre minutes.

Nah, seems you're picking up the echoes you like. Could it be possible I hate the players current utilization, and I'm aware if we keep the player he will continue to play higher up in the lineup than he should?

You'd probably have a better understanding of how I feel than I do though.

I've been really curious about the Flames lineup next 2 years. Since you apparently are already aware of what it will be, please do share.

Huska will sign an extension. Then he will continue to play Backlund higher up the lineup. Then he will continue to play him on the powerplay. After watching an emotionless Huska on the bench he will tell everyone about all the good after a loss in the presser.
