I think the Voyageurs Cup is a realistic goal. Crazy to say, but this team won't be afraid of any challengers this year. They're deep, they're good. I predict they'll be better than last year... https://open.substack.com/pub/canadi...meOnShare=true
I think they'll do the league double and then who knows what can happen in the Cup

Have they gotten better at posting the matches shortly after they air live? Watching late or on delay is a big part of my life, which is why Fubo and their PVR is great. But… that’s a great price!
Tonnes of space on cavalry’s attacking right side. Need to work the ball out to Aird, who other than the cross, hasn’t been very good. Pretty lazy defending at times.
Hope we see Baldisimo at some point. Our midfield is too weak with the ball. Myroniuk is all effort. Camargo, pretty invisible.
All in all, not a bad half away for the first game of the year. Tobi with the best chance, just an incredible save keeping it nil nil
Wow, Cavalry looked so good today and deserved the win, but Koleilat was unreal. Another day and this would’ve been a romp, but he just made some great saves.

Great game, fun one to watch. Cavs dominated, but didn't get the result. That Gherasimencov kid.... he's got some talent for sure, his striking leg is a lethal weapon.

They’ll be fine. One of the best saves the CPL has ever seen keeps them off the board and a defensive mistake let’s Forge score; looks like the midfield didn’t track back and Kamdem had to mark two guys
Maybe next year we won’t open the season in Hamilton. So annoying, pretty much a free hit for them

Well, we certainly deserved a point or three today. Forge were clinging to life the last 20 minutes or so. In fact, outside of their goal, we completely dominated that second half. Just looking at the stats, we had 20 shots(!) though only 4 on target.
Tommy won't be happy with Forge's goal. Jevremovic, the Forge LB, had way, way too much time to tease that cross in and Babouli had space to cleanly attack the ball.
Warschewski picked up where he left off. He was absolutely robbed on that header. Gherasimencov looked bright when he came on. It's nice to have an attacking LB to bring on when we're chasing a goal.
I also like our U-21 options this season. I think between Herdman, Gherasimencov, Myroniuk and Henry, we're going to have at least one consistent starter there.
Overall, other than not finding the final finish and being stymied by one of the best goalkeeping performances I've seen in this league, I'm pretty encouraged by that performance. We obviously need to add some depth at CB but I'm pretty bullish on the season.

I can see why the league does this, though. The two best teams, the best rivalry makes sense as a showcase game. And it makes sense to start the first couple weeks of the season on turf. I think TSN will be happy with the game they got today.
Hate to lose to Forge in the opener....again....but I'm not too upset with the performance. Cavalry were the better side and lost to a good cross in and a free header. Thought Musse was poor and Herdman fairly quiet but rest of the squad looked decent IMO. Montgomery and Field as a CB pair worry me though.
Ship was busy and it was great to see folks again. Gonna be a good year

I thought our wings were poor, both wingers and fullbacks. Herdman and Musse struggled to get into the game and our fullbacks were slow closing down defensively. I think Aird is actually the weak link defensively and looked like a forge knew they could get at him. Pumas was targeting our fullbacks in the second leg, seems like it’s something teams may have noticed.

This is my thought as well. I like Montgomery and he really came on at the end of last season but I also can't forget that prior to that, he couldn't get into the team for months. Field has mostly been a depth player for us.
I know someone mentioned that Zator is out of contract in Poland at the end of June and I could see him potentially wanting to come back now that he's started a family. However, he's dealing with a chronic injury and hasn't played at all this calendar year.
In any case, I think it was mentioned on the pregame show that Cavalry are actively looking for a CB. I think it's likely just a question of when.

I see why they do it too and it was the ideal first game for TSN. Cavs will start on the road every year to give the grass a chance to thaw out more
But then give us Forge for our home opener too. Fair is fair
