I read an article earlier from a political scientist that basically outlined how Trump views relations between countries the same as relations between himself and that countries leader.

So all this really shows is that he likes Carney more than he liked Trudeau

The Ivanka meme is better just because Melania is obviously looking in a different direction. Either way, I don't think it even goes that deep for Trump v Trudeau. I think he literally just hates how handsome he is in general. Like we can hate on the guy but he's a handsome dude, and people talk about it, and that boils Trumps blood, he has such a warped view of himself.

Carney is still more handsome than Trump (because every man is), but less obviously so.

I doubt it has much to do with either Trudeau or Carney, Trump wants to expand the US as a permanent legacy, personally I think there is some really bad intel on him, probably in Moscow, that he knows will eventually drop on him after he and Putin are dead and gone therefore he was/is looking for an easy conquest, a country that doesn't push back (what Putin thought Ukraine would be, coincidence? probably not, if the US absorbs Canada or Greenland on his watch no matter what perverse sleezy crap comes out he will always be the guy that added something big

When he pushed Canada the Liberals, to their credit, pushed back just as hard, this both annoys Trump but also engenders his grudging respect, trouble is you have to get through the spoilt toddler 'I want, I want!!' annoyed part to get to where we are now 'well I guess I aint getting what I want, who knew those Canadians are so tough!?!'

Didn't watch the video but I did read last week that he's actually trying to lower interest payments on their loans by devaluing the dollar and why he's gone wild with the tarriffs.

Meanwhile, Vance appears to be contradicting his boss a little bit.

Vance was asked by reporters several times whether the U.S. would ever use military force to acquire Greenland and he said he doesn't think that will ever be necessary.

Seems like Trump has a cycle of threats every week.

Week1: Ukraine
Week2: Greenland
Week3: Canada

So we got a couple of weeks before he rotates back to threatening Canada.

Well, after the Tesla protest in West Palm yesterday I’m actually more aggravated with my fellow Dems than ever.

Apparently, if you ask for proof or facts to back up their claims you’re automatically MAGA.
Thee was quite a heated discussion over this and a bunch of people moved the protest across the street.

Both sides need to be held accountable. Dems need to take a good, hard look at why they lost. I had some criticisms of Harris that got me labeled MAGA during the campaign. Sorry, no matter how ridiculous Trump may be, eye rolls and smirks are not rebuttals. Jeez.

Well you know why the Democrats lost? It was basically all down to inflation and the cost of living. This happened to virtually every incumbent facing elections in the western world over the past couple years. To me, there’s no deep soul searching required and not a lot more to it than this. It was a close election, and cost of living was the biggest single factor.

And the border, they were vulnerable on both and the while inflation was world wide the border was an own goal. They totally lost the optics war on that one. Thye might’ve gotten away with one of those, but not both.

There are a lot of different countries at the moment following this playbook. I look at politics around the world right now and its looking a lot like 1931 and the clock is ticking.

Agree with both of you.

Pro choice is certainly important and we need to be vigilant about that, but that was not the main concern of the average voter.

Harris’ reaction to the “cats and dogs” still pisses me off. She had an opportunity and blew it, imo.

Trump won’t rule out seeking a third term in the White House, tells NBC News ‘there are methods’ for doing so.
"A lot of people want me to do it,” Trump said in a Sunday-morning phone call with NBC News, referring to his allies. “But, I mean, I basically tell them we have a long way to go, you know, it’s very early in the administration.”

He's not wrong but...the Des only have about a year to propose a better candidate and so they'd better extricate their thumbs from their asses and get on with it.

Because if they run another BS Kamala then prepare for 'Dictator for Life Drumpf.'

His plan is going to run as the VP. Vance or some other puppet at President.

If the US electorate goes for that all power to them. We elect 3 terms frequently. Big caveat that elections are fair, and that Obama runs as Dem VP (just for giggles)

I think Trump's enduring unpopularity is masking a lot of Democratic weaknesses though. So sure the election was close, but that's because people hate Trump.

There are other warning signs that the Democrats are in very serious trouble if they stay on their current path. Recent polls from NBC and CNN have shown the party having 27% and 29% approval ratings, their lowest in the history of those polls, going back to 1990 and 1992 respectively.

And the current Democratic congressional approval rating among Democrats is -9 right now compared to +54 2 years ago and +75 2 years before that. The most recent party to have negative numbers among their own party at this point in the term were the Republicans right before Trump came onto the scene and upended the party.
