I listened to the Noiser podcast on Mussolini last week. Frightening number of parallels between how Trump is behaving and what Il Duce pulled off 100 years ago. Put your bets down on the US to win the 2026 World Cup as it may very well get rigged.
Let’s hope Trump meets his demise the same way Mussolini did. Trump’s current mistress too, again like Mussolini’s.

Hopefully in a much quicker timeline. It took 25 years for Il Duce to get his. Even if we go back to 2016...we're still in for 15 more of this. I also hope there isn't a Trump imitator who goes on to become more infamous like Mussolini.

This may not be a controversial opinion here but I would be interested to see what the cost of USAID would be relative to the cost of some of those munitions dropped on someone hiding in some random cave. The fact that this administration is set on creating policies that will inevitably lead to increased extremist behaviours, then turns around and says that they will hunt down and kill them in a manner that will serve to be propagandized/used as a recruitment tool.
Then they blame everything on Biden, even though I can't recall ISIL attacks against the United States that have anything to do with Somalia.

It doesn't matter. None of it matters. Facts are irrelevant to the people who need to understand them. Without that, you are shouting into the wind. You either speak languages they understand(money, power, punching down) or you get ignored, or far worse.
That's why the only rational solution is the one the second amendment allows for. This is like, why it exists. I'm not sure Americans have figure that out yet, or if they will before it is too late.

Donald Trump looks like one of those wax sculptures from the Ripley's museum in that photo. Are we sure that is actually him and not a decoy like other dictators have been known to use?

Or how about literally the same guy gleefully cheering and gloating about firing thousands of people? Didn't seem to be a problem to him to derive joy from depriving them of their livelihoods.

This may have already been discussed, but DW has a segment on Trump's plan to devalue the American dollar. The idea is that if countries play ball, then they will get tariff relief and U.S. protection. Countries that don't play ball will be considered enemies of the U.S.

Ya I saw this too and it's probably the only thing so far that makes some sort of sense with his tariff plans
If USD goes to par with CDN I might mess my pants. God that would be so awesome. I was in high school/early uni when we went to par during the meltdown. I loved it.
