So it's a pretty smart move by them to rest the wonder twins for the playoffs IMO.
Who knew Oilers could be smart, but it’s the right move and playing LA again who they already own every year.

My problem with it is just be honest you are sitting them out resting them instead of this injury BS. It brings shame to the game, but I'm also aware shame doesn't live in Edmonton

I give no credence to any suggestion that the Oil are being smart. It's far more likely that the wonder twins just thought of this together to get a week off.

It would be nice to pound the Oilers on Saturday.

By pound I mean win 3-1 with an empty netter.

Except there's a good chance LA has home ice this year which they didn't have the previous 3 years. LA has an outstanding home record, the best in the league, and the majority of their remaining games are at home. I like LA's chances this year if they have home ice advantage.

There's even a decent chance LA takes the division and Edmonton plays Vegas in the first round.

Honestly, if you get beaten by the Tenderness, Jeff Skinner and last week's garbage then might as well throw in the towel on the season.

Home ice will help. But every year, teams change and this LA team is not the same team. Quinton Byfield is having a break out season. Very slow start, but he's a PPG in his last 25 games or so.

Kuemper is a huge upgrade in net from last year.

Clarke is pacing to be a 40ish point dman

Foegele was a great pick up.

Turcotte is producing in a limited role

This LA team is not the same team, they are very deep now. They might be the favorites in the Pacific.

Lots of teams ready to pound the greasers.

Problem is probably us too if we make it.

Its weird how it seems to work out ok for the Oilers whenever they lose McDavid or Draisaitl for a stretch. Its like opposing teams are so relieved they don't have to play the wonder twins for 30 minutes (or be on the PK for almost the same amount of time) that they take their foot off the gas.

Warning to the Flames for this weekend I suppose. Stay focused.

As for the actual injuries, while I have no idea about Draisaitl, I'm starting to think McDavid's worse than they're letting on.
