The Breakdown
This exchange is WILD!
Carrie Tait tries to get an answer from Lagrange on the firing of the AHS board, Lagrange dodges, Carrie gets cut off, other reporters offer hertime and Smith’s press secretary shouts everyone down!
(the question went unanswered)

But not tariffs.

She's always been a corporate shill. There's a newspaper column from the 90s where she parroted tobacco industry propaganda, denying the link between cigarettes and cancer.

The province of Alberta announced Friday that it’s giving cancer care an eight-year, $800-million makeover in a partnership with Germany’s Siemens Healthineers and the Alberta Cancer Foundation to upgrade and update oncology equipment and implement AI technology.
The upgrades were announced Friday at a press conference attended by Alberta Premier Danielle Smith, Health Minister Adriana LaGrange, Nate Glubish and representatives from Siemens, the Alberta Cancer Foundation and Cancer Care Alberta.
|
Major announcement, seems like good news.

I agree but Dani’s response to that and the uptake in separatism chatter.

So? Let her. That will just shuttle her out of office quicker.

No, because as soon as it leaves the Alberta borders its federal jurisdiction and they could have an export tax. I’m not saying they should, because I remain unconvinced that anyone would pay that tax other than the producers in Canada, but the federal government could do this. There was an excise tax on natural gas for years.

The Trump Tarriff appears to be being born about 50/50 between buyer and seller. So small amounts would likely continue this pattern.
There just isn’t a surplus of heavy oil.

I said this once before but the solution to 1) politically support the "team canada" efforts 2) raise the oil price the tha USA must pay (create pain) and help the oil industry survive/prosper with higher market prices
Curtailment
Bring back Notley's curtailment program - a province led small production reduction raises the price of oil (eliminates any discounts), ensures a profitable oil patch and sticks it to the USA

you know someone is a POS when they use the word "woke" in a derogatory manner, not realizing that it refers to being educated and concious.
We need to petition our lieutenant general to force a vote of non-confidence.

Pausing the tariffs again wouldn't cause any shift whatsoever in the Canadian election because the threat is still there and it just delays them by another month. Smith is a f'n moron.

You prepared to compensate the pipeline companies who built capacity to ship for loss of throughput?

That's actually a great add for Carney,
Danielle Smith wants to break up Canada, she asked Donald Trump to help Maple Maga Pierre do it. Don't help Danielle and Donald break up Canada.

Unbelievable that she’s outwardly hoping a foreign country will take actions to influence the Canadian election. Literally, unbelievable. Surely there’s going to be an enormous uproar at the very idea? And surely, this is the death knell for the CPC campaign.

It's only unbelievable if you don't know Danielle Smith. That's totally on brand for her... she has no beliefs or principles other than doing whatever will help her gain / hold onto power.

The recent rule changes resulted in teachers no longer being able to use their preferred name, could no longer talk to them about everything, and resulted in school no longer being a safe space.
It would be nice if all parents would help their children with these scenarios, but the reality is that not all of them do. Schools used to be a place where kids could turn to for help, and our government has taken that away.
It makes me sick to my stomach.

Yeah, unfortunately most right wing populist politicians now a days are money seeking sociopaths and they literally don't care if human beings kill themselves over their policies as long as they can keep their power and move money from the working class to the upper class.
All they need for that is for a stupid populace to support them....enter the City of Calgary and Province of Alberta. I'm truly ashamed of our people , and specifically any of you on CP that voted for this party when they laid out exactly how evil they would be. You're terrible human beings as well to be honest. or too dumb to understand what the UCP is and stands for.
