So, regarding your question about why the posters here don't "break" news like mainstream reporters, I have a couple of thoughts. I think it's a legit question though.

1. Seravalli, Friedman etc are paid to do that. They are actively trying to break news, to get their info out there the quickest. They are likely plugged right in to the NHL office, and get heads up on various moves.

2. I actually think the tidbits we are getting are way earlier than what the mainstream media is getting. They break news because deals are done or very close to being done. I suspect we are getting glimpses (sometimes fairly cryptic because it has to be) into the process and names being talked about much much earlier in the game. Hence deals falling through, things not being exactly as described.

Take those things together and it's not a surprise that what we get on CP is more cryptic, and not so much about breaking news first. The great thing is, even if I wanted breaking news, I still check CP because sureloss is a God too haha.

What problem? It clearly states it's a "rumours" thread. Why do some feel so butthurt if it's vetted or not? It's just second hand info that some people are hearing from someone they know, or speculation from someone who might have heard a rumour somewhere. It's not meant to be taken so seriously, and is all in good fun. Why be such a wet blanket about it?

You know by now what this is. You willingly enter this thread to read rumours. Do you understand what rumours entail? Some will be true. Some will be false. Some will be somewhere in the middle. This isn't the "Trade truth and accuracy" thread.

Try to get some enjoyment out of it. Sports aren't so serious.

Plus there are like 3 threads where people are discussing Backlund’s captaincy and another 4 where people are having the rebuild conversation for the 2000th time if this thread is not interesting enough for them.

I think I broke some insider info once from the airport back when I was traveling every day for work. For the life of me, I can’t remember what it was though, lol.

Orange Julius scoops are literally the best part of CP. Anyone that doesn’t enjoy that aspect needs to ask why they don’t want good things in their life.

Would love it if we had a "thumbs down" feature or dislike feature too. I think a lot of poeple stay silent because they don't want to engage, but having a simple button to click would be nice.

It doesn't work properly on this 25 year old message board software, you still see where they're posting and all the quoted responses. If you try to ignore the people that have nothing better to do than spend all day here being dickheads in every single thread, then every thread is half filled with "You are ignoring content from this user" and people responding to said blocked content.

I met a few people from this forum at rookie camp and shared some inside information on how I get information.
Perhaps you should come out and support the team Cube, you never know who you may run into.

Everyone can choose who to believe, I think there are a few of us who have broken real legitimate things even before some of your network paid "insiderrrrrs" who do this for a living. Its ultimately your choice to believe it or not, but I think we'd all appreciate if you kept your insults to yourself.

I share what I can because I too love this team, and want to see a cup won in my lifetime. Now more than ever with young boys who love hockey. I'm lucky enough to be able to share some of it and I know there are some here who enjoy being able to read it. Please dont ruin it for the rest of us
