Given Andersson's recent play trading him may actually improve our chances.

I like the list above but we have to consider that Winnipeg & Buffalo are likely to be on his no trade list but who knows.

Room morale wise, maybe.

On-ice performance wise, depends on the return.

I've been a Ras fan for years but this year he's regressed a fair bit. There's still potential there for a rebound but I don't want any part of re-signing him for 8 years. I expect we trade him at the draft, but if Conroy gets a good offer this deadline, giv'r.

ON a personal note, I do hope we trade him.
#1 - I don't want to pay him the reported 8+M he's asking for
#2 - With any retention he's the most coveted asset right now in terms of top 4 potential. His value will never be higher.
Thanks Royle. Any word on if Conroy reactions to Andersson being a hot commodity? All we hear from media is that Conroy is going to wait to the offseason. Is that still the case or are any offers getting in range of making him consider trading him? Does the outcome of tonight’s game tip the scales either way?

Yeah, I think its more the morale factor - could be a gut punch to a close room.

His on-ice play has dipped. Though i'd still be worried about who would fill those minutes

Ras wouldn't be enough to push Edmonton over the top, so have at er IMO.
The real problem is extracting sufficient value from the clown show. The 2026 or 2027 1st are potentially valuable, but outside of that they have literally 0 of interest. Maybe Nuge and the 1st? Lol.

Doubt that happens in any scenario, but even thinking about it is just funky. They are so bereft of assets it's hard to understand.

I would hope the players have more resilience than that. And besides, nobody should be surprised when players get traded, no matter how the team is doing.

Go for the Cup? Come on now.

Playoffs would be nice, but it’s unrealistic to expect the Flames to win a seven game series against any playoff bound team in the West.

I have more faith in Huska’s ability to coach a defensive system that could withstand the loss of Ras, plus any added scoring we might get, to get us into the playoffs.

So I am not sure the playoff dream ends if Ras is traded. But I don’t see anything more than a 1st round exit as likely.

Huh, I didn't expect to hear Florida's name in on Rasmus after getting Seth Jones. However, if they did...

Forsling-Ekblad
Mikkola-Andersson
Kulikov-Jones
Schmidt-Balinskis

That's a formidable group for another cup run, good depth too.

Add that to an impressive forward group and Bob in net.

Ah123, I don’t know how you did it but that’s the coolest Sec214 quote I’ve ever seen, and just as decipherable.

We are in the matrix. We are trading for Ryan Keanu Reaves.

lol saying Rasmus is a depth dman and that he might not crack their top 4 is a huge undervaluing of the player.

Honestly it's one is the sliliest posts I've seen here, the guy just played for Sweden in a best on best and now he can't crack the stars top 4.

I guess Nils Lundqvist, Codi Ceci, or Iyla Lybushkin are all better RH dmen.

If the Stars trade for Andersson he's paired with Harley or Heiskanen and they are instantly better

If Razz moves I'm wagering he's going east. And it's gonna be Washington or NJ or Buffalo.
