Appeasing Putin may have already set the machine in motion.
When historians look back at WWI, they agree the assassination of the archduke started it, even though the battles didn't start for another month.
It may take a few months or even a bit longer, but the watershed moment could be Putin being appeased and pulling support of Ukraine.

Yea, other than several protests and angry town halls, I’m still not seeing enough push-back from the American public or the Democrats for that matter. I realize the Dems are basically powerless in Congress right now, but holy ####, someone— anyone— needs to start pushing back against this insanity.

That's what was seized at the Canadian border over the whole of January.
Absurd.
But it evidently is a front that means nothing. A means to apply pressure to move manufacturing back to the US.
But that won't happen overnight and it will hurt consumers and businesses a lot in the process.

Their supporters have managed to lose their humanity along the way. Every one outside of the states is less than human in their view, it seems. And any means to this end, which they can't even divulge or define when asked, is warranted. Rudderless and morally compromised by the worst salesman ever.
Geopolitical lines may separate us, but in the end we're all apes sharing this rock. Don't religious types make up a large portion of his base? What does that attitude say about them and their faith. Or does Trump come above god/Jesus now?
Fox and those stations have always sucked, but in the last two months they've truly gone off the deep end. It's so pathetic and sad to watch and I hope they're utterly ashamed of their actions during this period of time later in life after the consequences of helping Trump further his agenda rears its head.

Anti-government protests, uprisings and armed rebellion. I do think the "saving grace" for Canada is things are going to get violent in the States if Trump keeps going. We've seen him bring out some no protesting rules on campuses recently, and Ben Shapiro and Musk are tweeting about pardoning Derek Chauvin. They want as re-do of BLM, and they want to do what they feel they should have done last time.
