I mean it's all an exaggeration. Taking something that could be true an stretching it far as you can. In the end I don't think that Phill Brooks the person really, really cares about WM main event. But CM Punk needs a McGuffin and his face character works best if he feels like an underdog whose been slighted by the man. Glad to be here happy man face punk is lame.

It's why I think it would have been perfect for Punk to win the EC and then have the authority figures in Rock and Cena come and try to "take his main event" away from him in terms of making it a triple threat.

It would be the ultimate long term booking since Rock-Cena headlining back to back WMs right in the middle of Punk's prime was what pissed him off to start with. Most wrestling fans were smart enough to put that together right away.

Punk vs Jericho as the WWE championship was bumped to second on the card at WM28.

Punk dropped the title to The Rock and lost to him twice (RR and Elimination Chamber) without ever getting a win back during the middle of his hottest run in the WWE at that time. And he was "Demoted" to the match with Taker at WM instead.

Having it be Cody vs Cena vs Punk would have made for a very compelling story, and would have freed up Roman vs Rollins for the singles grudge match that makes a lot of sense after Roman decided hitting Rollins with a chair was more important than beating Cody at the last WM.

I really think that they can stand to hold off giving punk the WM main event. the more salt to the wound the better.

Punk/Rollins/Reigns could obviously main event night one of WrestleMania, but that would "no sell" Main Event Jey Uso winning the Title off Gunther. So I don't know what direction they go there. The former is a bigger match, but could they really open a show with Uso winning?

Drew/Rollins didn't main event last year, so there's precedent. Again though his nickname is literally Main Event, so does Uso need to be there?

Call me an IWC snob, but I just can't get into smelly cat Jey Uso, no matter how much I like Gunther's work.

Triple H nodding at you with an understanding face while he stands at the money printing machine and disregards your opinions.

Oh totally, I'm not going to get on a high horse and say that they're wrong. Play the hot hand, woo woo woo you know it!

It's not for me, which isn't a big deal that I can fast forward, only thing that bums me out is I love Gunther now I skip his segments.

Trying to decide if I want to keep supporting WWE by watching their product. Not because they are an American company or are putting out a bad product (it's been lightyears better since Vince left), but because their current leadership are all Trump administration supporters, and as fans, our time/dollars are going to them. At a crossroads and not sure what to do here.

I mean, if you really want to strip away all thing U.S, were going to have to ditch all Google products including software, Microsoft, Oracle, HP, Dell, Apple, Netflix, Disney, Paramount, Facebook, YouTube and so on and so on.

As Canadians we'd be left with CBC and about what...3 hours of Canadian t.v content outside of the news?

We've been so intertwined with American consumerism that's it's damned near impossible to clean cut the ambilicle cord.

As previously stated: I have had to come to terms with the fact that a large majority of my entertainment is given to me by people who I'd probably like to punch for one reason or another.

My choices are live in a bubble or just try and separate the art from the artist as it were.

Yeah... I'll probably keep watching; it is admittedly hard to just turn everything off at once. Wrestling will outlast Trump and his supporters; although I'd love to see Stone Cold stun the orange rapist again in the ring. WORTH IT

MAGA infects nearly every media outlet. On the bright side I don't think WWE has ever outright recognised or promoted Trump. Considering he's in their Hall of Fame I'm somewhat surprised they avoided that. I don't remember them congratulating Trump for winning the election, or after his inauguration on the 20th. Maybe they have enough common sense to know the majority of their (worldwide) viewership do not support Trump and his MAGA politics.

I would also think most of the talent didn't vote for Trump. Long gone is the steroid era where the likes of Hogan, Guerrero, Warrior, Kane, Taker, Flair, Jericho, etc. The only one we know for certain voted for Trump was that idiot Logan Paul.

Yeah I'm just glad it's not like the UFC where just about everybody is MAGA and they take every chance to show Trump on-screen

I was listening to a NFL podcast today. They discussed how people tune into the WWE Raw for the drama and storyline and less for matches. The PPV is for the matches.

I always felt the same way as well, I loved the promos and stuff.

Man, when I watch wrestling my kids are always asking if I actually like it because I always fast forward the matches

I also like the finishes, promos and all the other stuff. Basically everything but the matches itself. LOL

Depends on who's actually wrestling. That's a big part of it, there's a ton of wrestlers now but few who can actually sell a good story in the fighting. Or you get the high flying luchadore style which is always great.

I actually miss the days of the "enhancement talent" or "jobber". It helped build up the roster as monsters and you could understand the individual move set and finisher, so that by the time a big match between two monsters occured you could understand the in-ring story that each one of them was trying to tell. The move set was a part of their personality. Few wrestlers nowadays have much more than a finisher, so there doesn't seem to be a middle to the match..just a start and an end.

Jey's also the perfect Transition Champ atm. He's super over but doesn't have aura like Cody where you'd feel like he would have to hold that title for a long time.

He can win it, the fans get their moment, Jey gets another notch as a singles competitor, and they can pass it off to the next big heel they want to push and it'll likely give them a bunch of heat when they do it.

Bring back the fat biker guys and skinny accountants. We need more "Smiling" Joe Roberts. Or Barry O, Or Quick Draw Mcgraw (RIP.

We need more tag teams where you have a established tag team going up against a decent known guy and his partner Farmer Bill Squash. Where literally the match ends when the Farmer gets tagged in.

There really does need to be a wing in the hall of fame for jobbers.
