He was pulling on the tie in the choke really hard too.

Probably shouldn't have had a dude that was high and has never worked before come in to try to be part of the angle.

I was busy last night and was going to watch this morning until my dad sent me a play by players text spoiling everything. Jeez what a bummer a rare PPV where the twists and turns pay off and I miss out.

I never thought it was a hint at a PC this week, when Cena said that he would always do what is best for business.

BTW I hated the Rock's press conference last night where he treated it like a movie or TV show.

He could have sold it like Cena did at the PC.

Rocks been doing that going back to the Final Boss run last year.

Think he feels like he has to reinforce this is a "Character"

And yes it's annoying. I feel like the only people that should do the conference are HHH and anybody making like a debut.

In terms of Cena the first hint was the Royal Rumble press conference - where he said he was going to use his leverage to be in EC and that him being in the EC was what's best for business.

The interesting angle is that Cena can actually try to say this isn't a heel turn - that he's always been a company guy and does what the company wants him to do.

Now it's just that The Rock is the company.

It's really lit a fire for the wrestling world today. Cena's facials were magnificent last night, Cornette must have been impressed.

If you go back and read Mick Foley's first book there's a chapter that's really a master class on characters. Basically the heel can't see themselves as heels. they have to have a justification that they are doing the right thing as a bad guy. Kevin Owen's is the master of that, and that's why he was so believable as a heel throughout his career.

John Cena can see justifiable reasons for betraying Cody and selling out to the Rock. He was the guy that carried the company for a long time, by doing what's best for business. He's doing it here.

I mean the facial expressions were hammy as ####, but that's just who Cena is. It was still great overall.

It's nice to see both WWE and AEW on a roll right now. Good time to be a wrestling fan when things were looking bleak just a few months ago.

Ron Killings really is a national treasure.

In order for Cena to go full heel he needs to beat down Truth along the way. Maybe Cena can give him a shot at the title.

IIRC there was a point last year where Cena was asked about Rock's heel turn and he kind of mentioned how it looked like a lot of fun.

I think he's really wanted to get a shot at being heel again (he started as more of a comedy heel) and it's kind of awesome they made it possible for him.

Still think it would have made a lot more sense if he lost EC and then he used Rock's influence to make it a triple threat main event at Mania but this is still going to be a lot of fun.

I want to see R-Truth defending Cena in all the MAGA tropes.

"What was Cody doing in the ring?"

"There are good people on both sides of the title match"

"Just because Cena attacked Cody unprovoked does not make him a heel, people call anyone they dislike a heel, its a disservice for when an actual heel comes along"

Have R-Truth be the same silly, comedic genious still supporting John Cena as if Cena was a face.

WTF are you talking about dude? Cena has a full, thick, lushious head of hair. I should know I have the same hair.

Not sure what you're talking about bald spot

Ivy and Lyra had a pretty stiff match or at least it seems kinda stiff. Ivy has a great ankle lock though, looked more painful than pretty much any other ankle lock I've seen.

Was thinking today that if Austin does decide to do something at the LV rumble then it will likely be as Cody's support against Rock / Cena.

Punk unfiltered on Netflix is so natural and amazing.
His opening promo was lights out.
Sky winning the title was a jaw dropped too. This new WWE might be the best wrestling and story telling since the attitude era.

Thoughts about Raw

CM Punk might be the best under guy with a chip on his shoulder the business has ever seen. In Shoot, he has every right to be annoyed that he has returned full time and never had the red carpet rolled out for him, and part timers like Cena and the Rock get main event action without breaking a sweat, he has a way to make that small annoyance into a huge kayfabe ordeal.

The Creed Brothers are one hell of a tag team. Boy they can work. The War riders just don't do it for me.

Chad Gable should be a star, his work is great and his over the top Heel energy just kills me.

Ivy Nile might be one of the only women who doesn't make wrestling look like a choreographed dance, but a real fight.

Ludwig Kaiser is just soooooo greasy, a perfect fit for Penta.

Raw has to stop with the constant replays. good thing I can fast forward.

If they somehow use the Kevin Owens beatdown of Zayn to write off Sami Zayn but have El Generico be the one helping Gable that would be hilarious.

Have Owens kind of losing his mind a bit at it too...but guess they already did that with Elias.
