Wolf doesn’t need to suck . He could just play league average and this team is picking top 5

Goalie last long in this league.

That’s basically what you are saying Conroy should do though. If he doesn’t try to build around Wolf then they could just end up floating in the mushy middle like they are right now anyways. If Wolf has a rough year next year then they will be a bottom ten team but he has to start adjusting his approach if Wolf is dragging them out of the bottom ten again next year.

If you believe that then you can’t really argue that Conroy wasn’t trying to rebuild imo.

Only two skaters are on pace for 50 points. Huberdeau and Kadri.
Two, maybe three 20 goal scorers.
Highest defenceman is at 32. Weeger (44 per 82 games).
Andersson on pace for 29 points. I remember people saying he's a guaranteed 50 point player forever.
The team simply can't score. Tied for dead last in goals.
Coaching or talent? Maybe a bit of both.
Without Wolf this team is not near good enough.

Especially in overtime. When you play 3-on-3, depth counts for nothing. The Hurricanes have players who can snipe, the Flames just have players who are good enough.
It would be highly amusing if teams got to choose each other's starting lineup for 3-on-3. Then depth would come into play, and the team with the worst fourth line and third pairing might easily lose on the first shift of OT.

Hilarious how you sit quiet when people make up stuff I say but you keep coming to this guys defence. Weird n

Here we are again with you making stuff up.
I would just pick an elite player where Point, Kucherov, Gaudreau, Marchand, Pasta, Connor, Necas, Bratt, Robertson etc. were picked. Hope that answers your question.
Who made up anything that you said? You consistently in almost every single post make up stuff that other people say.

It’s both coaching and talent. Huska has done a good job of implementing a system that gives the Flames a chance to win based on the lack of scoring ability this roster has. Any wins the Flames get are going to be 2-1 or the 3-2 variety, it’s just what the roster can do. If Huska were to implement a more offence first system this would be the worst team in the league by a country mile. Just simply do not have the personnel to run that way.

1 championship in that last and so you just want the team to get extremely lucky. But don’t trade anyone for picks to help our chances otherwise no UFA will sign here.

Are you saying there's a way to win the Stanley Cup without getting extremely lucky? Every GM in the league would love to hear it.

Another straw man.
Could it possibly be that there is some middle ground where you can trade players for picks without burning everything to the ground and finishing bottom of the league for years and years?
Nah, that couldn't be. Utterly impossible, and please forget that's exactly what Conroy did just a year ago.

I am talking about the draft sorry.
Yah you have to pretty much burn it down how else do you get a top pick ?

Did the Avalanche burn it to the ground to get Cale Makar? No, they had one freakishly bad season.

What about the other players ?
We can follow Aaron’s plan and become an expansion team. Just fold up and come back in 2027.

You were saying, or strongly implying, that the only way to get a top-5 pick is to intentionally burn the team to the ground. Well, the Avs got a top-5 pick when they already had McKinnon & company on the roster, and moreover, they had already had a 112-point season with him on the roster.
I showed by example that it is possible to get a top-5 pick without a scorched-earth rebuild. If you don't understand what I am saying, that's what they call a ‘you’ problem.

Avs never had a 112 point season prior to Makar.

That was the same build. McKinnon was a key player on that 112-point team. They did not do a tear-down again in order to draft 4th in 2017.
You aren't even bothering to read what I post before shooting your yap off, are you?

We could have had Necas but chose Huberdeau instead.
