Let this just be the beginning. Let it be a 15 game losing streak that sees the oilers drop out of the playoffs after trading another first round pick (in 2026) away for another mediocre goalie just before the deadline. Let McDavid out s have another locker room hissy fit at the end of the season and refuse to sign with the oilers. Let them feel the no goodness flow through them.

Oil are 2-5-1 in the last 8 and both wins were in OT over non-playoff teams the Blues and Hawks

How long until Pissy turns on Mavi. I’m guessing he gets sick of all this ‘best player in the world’ BS when he has completely carried the Oilers this year….

Beautiful. Would also accept a flames-panthers final with the flames defeating the team that the oilers couldn’t. Also… the flames would be giving up the 31st pick in the draft to Montreal. In that scenario, I’d be fine giving them the 32nd pick as well as a tip.

SN just had Knoblauch on. Honestly, I don't think he has any idea what to do. Ekholm said they were practicing on the off days on the 3 in 4 days. Maybe a day off might help, Knobby.

Yet players go where they want to be, we have seen it time and again. We saw it with Gaudreau. McDavid wants to go home, he wants try and bring a Cup to Toronto. He wants to play with with his best friend who he trains with in the offseason which is Matthews, not Draisaitl. Can he get more money from the Oilers? Sure. Can he be around family and friends, still get a boatload of money, and chase his childhood dream? Absolutely. McDavid wants to cement his place in hockey history, no matter what he accomplishes in Edmonton he will always be in 99's shadow and he knows it.
