WSH had put up something asinine like 20 goals in their last 3 games too.
An epic and unexpected win.
Flames doing Flames things.

I’m trying to remember - both teams just played in Washington/ which one played against their backup and which team won?

Frost has skill. He can make plays. If he can find consistency he will make for a good second line C. Farabee I’m not sold on yet. He gets in the right areas but he misses everything. If he kept tumbling all over the ice you would think he was wearing 88.

Frost was a GREAT acquisition. Moves the needle for the team on ice-Q and skill.
I don't miss Kuzmenko at all (except in the locker room).
Hopefully Farabee can catch up.

Tip of the hat to Ovechkin. Was dangerous all night. Absolute legend.

Great way to kick off the road trip and good way to set the tone moving forward. Total team buy in and they all played hard. Unreal 1st and a great game by Vladar.

The door on a top 10 pick is not 100% closed yet but it's pretty close:
64 points in 57 GP.
Threshold for bottom 10 is generally .500 or 82 points.
It means the Flames could only get 18 points in the final 25 games - or a .360 point percentage.
Just keep winning and make the playoffs because to me that's much better than finishing with the 12th OV pick and giving it to Montreal.

I agree with that so far but also thought this was probably one of the best performances from Farabee since joining. I'm not ready to write him off yet, but hopefully he can get it going.

Other thing I saw was the team had a good plan and you see how playing a zone defence is much more effective especially vs a team like Washington. They really liked to drive the offensive zone and do the button hook at the blue line and look for a trailer coming in to get it to the middle of pass off for a 1 timer. But the Flames were in set defences and really sold out to block shots and sticks on pucks and be aggressive in the shell in front of Vladar.

Didn't think we were going to win, happy to be proven wrong. Great game.
