And come on CPL, get that salary cap up a little faster and add a designated player for 2026. These guys belong at the top level, and deserve the added boosts!

and as good as they are right now, imagine once they add one (or two) more CBs between now and April...
I'm stoked for this season.
I agree that we need another CB, but also I thought Kobza and Montgomery looked very good. Feels like both have stepped up their game compared to last year.

I'm with you and while I'm hoping/expecting another CB to be added I am also expecting Kobza/Montgomery to be the main guys this year. Montgomery went up a level once he got consistent game time alongside Klomp last year and Kobza looks a lot more confident and composed this year so far

Surely there is some unpolished gem of a CB languishing somewhere in a central American league that would love to come and play in Canada where his family is safe and he doesn't have to chase his paycheck.
This feels like a Karifa Yao situation where it might work to bring a player on loan from an MLS side who wouldn't benefit from playing reserve team games. Maybe someone like Lazar Stefanovic or Adam Pearlman from TFC.
At the supporters night Tommy mentioned that Dominick Zator's contract ends in June, and he just had a kid. Thought that was interesting....
Footy Prime spent 20 minutes covering the Cavalry match (and shouting out the Foot Soldiers) on today's pod. Any time the biggest soccer podcast in Canada spends that much time talking Cavalry it's worth listening to.
That's not a bad draw. Semis are definitely a possibility.
We've beat Whitecaps before so even the Final is possible. TFC and Montreal are weak in MLS.
I'm going to go ahead and say anything is possible.
With the teams being redrawn before the semi-final it's possible Whitecaps ends up playing the other MLS team in the semi and Cavalry could avoid any MLS opposition until the final.
- “in modern day football, it’s a red card”
- also went on to say because replays can slow things down so much, it looks much worse
He and I both agreed, and this is where I dislike the “modern day football”, that what was he supposed to do? He was going for the ball and his NATURAL follow through made contact. If he was going for a tackle and followed through with studs, that’s a different story, but what are players supposed to do? Not go for the ball in fear that even if you win it (which he did), you could still be called for a foul or worse in this case?
As a CB myself, that one really irks me…incidental contact happens, and should be allowed to happen (within reason).

Do you think that you'll go right into the starting 11 to take Klomps place, or work your way into the squad?
