As great as it would be for McDavid to leave Edmonton, it's not happening. Him, his wife and the dog have embraced the Edmonton way of life. Sweat pant suits, heated driveways.

I think he gets the max as well, the question is does he wait till next offseason when the cap is higher. 161.6M on a 8 year deal if he signs it July 1 2026.

I love how they have Craig Button spent 2 minutes talking about how the Oilers should be after Binnington and how Bowman should be doing whatever it takes to get him. But, of course, zero mention of the fact that they would either need to dump cap space or have St. Louis (or a 3rd party) retain 50% of Binnington's contract and that they also have literally no assets worth anything apart from their 2026 and 2027 1sts plus some seconds to get Binnington.

Would be hilarious if they paid a ridiculous price to get Binnington (say an unprotected 1st + two 2nd round picks) for retained Binnington… only for the oilers to lose in the playoffs, have McDavid walk to free agency next year and the unprotected first end up being a lottery pick.

I love how F ed they are snd yet they still think theyll be back in the SCF . Man that koolaid must ferment and get stronger every year for as often as we see them reclaiming former lost glory and delusions of Grandeur.

I know people are high on Binnington right now because he stole the game for Canada against the U.S., but he comes across as a bit of a jerk most of the time. He certainly isn't afraid to throw around the stink eyes and have fits. Which would hilarious if he played for Edmonton, because I could see it not going well.

It's also funny because if they had kept Holloway and/or Broberg by matching, it would probably be easy enough to trade them in a package for Binnington.

His save % is .898 2.84 GAA. Skinner is 2.81 and .898 as well.

I think Binnington gets overrated, he isn't a consistent goalie and like you said he is a hot head. He also wont be playing with Makar, Toews, Doughty etc. they have Nurse, Ekholm, Kulak.
