He’s referring to Trump. And since PK is an analyst for ESPN I’m assuming he means they’ll have him on as a guest? Or he’s just referring to Trump in general.
Either way, Aliu clearly is having none of it and it isn’t the first time PK has made comments that have led people to believe he’s MAGA.
I have a hard time with the political connections to these games. There are zero political ramifications to this game. None. Not saying it shouldn't be discussed, but it just doesn't matter at all.
You're right, but it's an outlet and people are looking for one.
It's like consumer bans on certain products or companies. Even that has the idea of meaningful action, more so than sport, but really it's not going to move the needle in the same way building a political movement does. It's politics thought consumption and consumer choice, or rather the patina of political action.

The political climate is definitely a motivator for fans, as we saw in Montreal. But I don’t think the players care.

The really sad thing here for team USA is that this started as "win one for Gaudreau" and has spiraled into a Trump rally by their GM and some of the players. Team USA has become the "Russians'" of the miracle on Ice. They are the bad guys in all of this.
