Young criminals flagrantly mocking the legal system in a police station, hospital nurses commonly using terms exclusive to pedophile groups and those who research and treat them, and a dozen personal connections to people who experienced extreme, deadly reactions to the COVID vaccines.
He’s quite the storyteller.

I agree, I still believe when PP was in landslide territory in the polls before Trudeau resigned it was almost entirely due to how Trudeau is/was so unlikeable to so many Pierre was de facto choice. Now that Trudeau is done and people realize how unlikeable Pierre is things started swinging back. And you are correct, with all the Trump/U.S./tariff disasters to the South it is more than just Trudeau now, other reasons are at play. But originally imo it was definitely a CPC runaway train in the polls almost completely due to Trudeau's image in this country. No wonder the CPC wanted an election so badly before, I would too.

Now where else have I heard that "Common Sense" campaign? Hmmm.

Your chart shows an increasing crime rate in the last 15 years. It’s just hard to see because for some reason (deliberate ?) you picked a chart going back 75 years like people care that crime today is better then 50 years ago even if it’s been dramatically increasing over the past 10-15 years

I would definitely vote, my way of thinking is you can’t complain if you don’t vote!
I honestly have no idea who I would vote for. A few election cycles ago I thought the Alberta Party had some interesting ideas.
But, I would not be ruling out any party at this time (except a corrupt one).

I feel like we aren’t holding the government accountable at all for scandals / ethical breaches. In fact, by casting a vote for them, you are saying it is ok. Why would it be ok at one level of government and not the other?
It seems hypocritical to want to vote Liberal and at the same time chastise the provincial government.
(Cue the “but we don’t like PP” crowd…)

Let's be honest. The knife definitely cuts both ways. Because funny enough, I was thinking the exact opposite perspective, but the same observation. The same people outraged at the Liberal's scandals are doing mental gymnastics to try to explain away why Smith and her government still get a pass on this AHS one.

100 percent.
So where do you stand? Is corruption acceptable? Would you vote for a corrupt government?

It gives good context and people should care about it. Crime has been increasing for 10 years, rising to the level it was 15 years ago, and about half of what it was 30 years ago.
Anyone 40 years and older has experienced much, much higher crime rates in their adult life.

Also, police reported crime rates.
How ignorant do you have to be to use a police reported crime rate statistic to push the stupid idea that crime rates are going down?
Sheesh.

So when should people worry ? When it’s out of hand ?
Come on you can’t seriously be arguing a 50% increase in a decade isn’t an issue (I’m even leaving out the whole reported problem))

I 100% stand behind every one of my comments. You have zero clue what my wife does now. The drug interactions I and my family and friends had with the vaccine are no laughing matter. You should have no place on this forum or any other treating people the way you do. Your arrogance seems to have no bounds. Going forward, I will no longer respond to anything you comment even in your petty attacks against me.

I make all my policy decisions by using the Azure anecdotal rage crime index. It's kind of all over the place, but it makes justifying irrational choices more comfortable.

Has it really “dramatically” increased? The chart shows that around 2010 overall crime was down roughly 40% from its peak in the early nineties and has risen only around 10% since 2010.

I wonder what the surname was of the last PM when crime rates were at historical highs. Could have been anyone.
The economy officially entered a recession in the third quarter of 1981, as high interest rates put pressure on sectors of the economy reliant on borrowing, like manufacturing and construction. Unemployment grew from 7.4 percent at the start of the recession to nearly 10 percent a year later.
People struggle, crime goes up.

Since 2014 violent crime is up 45% and homicides 54%
So yes - dramatic
These stats are readily available

It looks like property crimes contribute a lot to that total number. Violent crime is a lot more of a flat line showing a recent upward trend toward the high numbers in 1992.
Property crimes suck, but I don't think they cause as much worry as violent crimes.

What were they at before then? Honestly you could be making a very valid argument but just saying percentages like that in itself without the actual number of crimes doesn’t really paint a very good picture.
Like if there was 1 murder across the country last year and this year there are 2, that’s a 100% increase. But it’s far less of a concern than if we had say 500 murders and that increased to 1000.
