Theodore went for x-rays on his wrist in the 2nd. Worst fear is an injury in this tournament.

Not the first time Canada has beat Sweden in OT at the World Cup

So you can add a player if you have less then 18 healthy skaters.

This.

You have 6 lines of forwards and 6 D pairings in NHL overtime.

This might be a stupid idea, but maybe use shoot out logic. Make a rule that the teams have to rotate through the roster in OT before players can take another shift.

I get that it might be hard for the refs to track, but maybe an eye-in-the-sky system could be used?

Some teams would still just gas their best players and make them stay on as long as possible, but it would reward teams that might not have top superstars, but invested in roster depth.

McDavid should be a healthy scratch next game.

Hell no! Play him for 30+ minutes! He is almost always a minus and wear him out for the Oilers' stretch-run.

Not sure how the refs would police that. Probably end up being endless challenges

I wonder if Bennett draws in for the next game. The typical players he would replace (i.e. someone from the bottom 2 lines) looked pretty good. Can’t say any of the forwards had a bad game but I think Reinhart looked a little off. Probably a case of adjusting though. Doubt he would be sat for Bennett to play.

Sucks for Theodore if he’s out for an extended period.

But I guess that’s the big risk in this tournament. Everyone is going so hard there’s bound to be some injuries .

I think over time going to 10 minutes would actually punish the teams that try to roll the same guys out and they'd have to adjust.

In 5 minutes you can try to put guys out there for 3+ minutes off it and just bag them, knowing it's short.

You try to do that in 10 minutes and they are gassed and the other team is going to be able to take advantage.

Wonder how Doughty is going to hold up. Older guy. Barely played this season coming off an injury. Got to think he was completely gasses after that game.

Crosby showing why he is still the number 1 player in the world IMO. I have always said It's Crosby, Mackinnon and McDavid in that order . This game proves that.

I saw a collection of individuals in the same colours trying to do it themselves (at least offensively) until Crosby stepped on the ice and shepherded them in a way. He was the guy with vision and could see things developing while every one else was just battling through it.

His assists were not ordinary assists. He drew defenders and parted the seas so his linemates could capitalize.

Exemplified the leverage that IQ brings over just having oodles of skill.
