First Blood (Rambo) is a surprisingly deep, yet action packed, movie. One of my favorite action movies of all time. A real lesson in FA&FO.
I have a cousin who was an extra in it, funny thing is he wasn't suppose to be an extra and didn't even get paid as he was in the military stationed in Chilliwack, story I was told the Canadian army was brought in because someone stole some of the guns.
Watched "The Order" last night. Filmed in and around Calgary starring Jude Law. Good little white supremacist heist movie set in the 80s- Fun spotting the local landmarks
I didn't realize it was filmed in our backyard until a friend told me after I'd watched it! The scenery stood out in hindsight, but no infrastructure or buildings.
It rather annoyed me when I was told of the filming location, as I try and keep on top of these things!
I think we should do a CP greatest action movie poll similar to the top prospects poll. T2, Die Hard, Con Air, Mad Max Fury Road, Matrix, Predator, Speed, Aliens let's include them all
Speed was probably the best. I was sweating in the theatre. Plus Sandra Bullock!

Knew I recognized him from somewhere. He was great in the 1992 classic Gladiator.
With global megastar, Oscar-winning, gravity-defying action icon Cuba Gooding Jr., whose mere presence on screen causes explosions, spontaneous standing ovations, and minor shifts in the Earth's rotation? That Gladiator?
Hereditary: This movie is great at building tension, and offered some really creepy scenes - totally wasn't expecting as good a movie as it was. Toni Colette was outstanding in this. It's on Netflix.
Lee: I swore I just saw a trailer for this in the theatres around Christmas., but apparently it was a 2023 movie, with theatrical releases in Canada in the fall of 2024. WWII biopic on war photographer Lee Miller, that follows a fairly predictable format. Kate Winslet, Andy Samberg, and surprisingly, Josh O'Connor (The Crown's Prince Charles) were quite good, but the film felt a bit one-dimensional. Winslet was topless a surprising amount for a war movie, to the point I was chuckling at how out of place it felt. It's on Prime.
The Order: This wasn't sugar-coated at all, which made for a more potent movie, but also quite dreary and slow at times. I think the scariest part is these nazi ####s don't have to overthrow the US federal government, they're now in bed with the federal government. Also on Prime.

Kids and partner were out Saturday night, so I sat down and watched 3 movies in a row and stuffed my face with food.
Peanut Butter Falcon - Really enjoyed it. Corny at times, but still very enjoyable. Zack was a delight. And anytime I get to see Thomas Haden Church in something, its a good day.
The Trial of the Chicago 7 - Great movie with some excellent acting. Cohen was so good in this, as was Rylence (I enjoy him in most things). Definite artistic license in this movie, but I don't think they went overboard. Recommended watch for sure.
The Wedding Ringer - Never heard of it before and wasn't expecting anything great here, but had a lot of genuinine laugh out loud moments. One of the funnier Hart movies I've seen, and I always enjoy Gad. Told my partner I'd watch it again with her if she wants to see it.

I loved that film. Everyone was just completely on point. I'd love to say that Sacha Baron Cohen sold it, but absolutely everyone in that movie was great.
Oh the Judge! You absolutely hate the Judge, but thats his job! Great movie.
Now as for 'Historical Accuracy' I cant speak for that.
