I saw some of the clips of the recently released unedited interview of Harris. Boy, her answers to some very basic and frankly soft ball questions were ridiculously bad lol. I've been saying this for a while to people, but what the hell happened to her? I still remember how articulate she was as a Senator, taking people down in congressional hearings, but ever since she became VP, she just rambles on and on whenever she's asked a question.
Also a little shocking just how much they edited out of her interview.

Have it for myself and kids, but wife needs to pass some civic and language fluency test, which I am not sure she could handle another language.

I'd just find a new EU wife. EU passport is my escape ticket.

Your wife does not automatically qualify if you have one?

Oh, I could still escape, but I’d feel bad.

Different countries in the EU may have different rules about spouses. I am not sure if any would bestow it to a spouse. cause that would probably be fraught with fraud.

Bonkers that this is even crossing my mind.

I know people who have set up their children's European passport for the same precautionary reasons. It's wild that these things are happening in real time.

Good news: My wife was born in another country so we could immigrate.
Bad news: She was born in the U.S.

Probably, yeah. Trump is a moron, but even he isn't too dumb to realize that if Canada joined the US with full democratic rights that Republicans would never win a national election. So if it ever did come to fruition, there would be 1 of 2 possibilities:
1) The US has ceased to be a functioning democracy.
2) Canadians wouldn't have voting rights and Canada would be a territory that they can basically plunder from.
Either way, that's not really the kind of place that someone with some options would necessarily want to stick around in.
Sure, there are other possibilities short of annexation, like a customs union or something like that. But if it ever comes down to actual annexation, then Canadians are not going to be coming out of that in a good situation.

I did it before any of this nonsense and purely for employment perspectives. I was hoping for a change of pace and getting an expat role in Europe was not easy so I got my dual citizenship setup and EU passport so that I could work on local terms if something interesting came up.
At some point I will get my kid's setup as well so that they have more freedom and opportunities.

Good riddance, I'd rather be with Canadians that want to stay and fight for their country.

1. Lost her passion?
2. Afraid that whatever she says will get her cancelled?
3. Both?
She lost to Trump. Worse way than Hillary. As America didn’t know him ad well, and frankly watching 2016 Trump is night and day different.
Harris was and is a dud. Dems need to start fresh. Take Senate and House back and build from there.

If it got to that point do you think the US would pick and choose which provinces it wanted. I’d be surprised if they would take the whole country.

All this talk about Canada getting annexed is crazier than Trump himself, even the nutty GOP wouldn't want a war with NATO, they would pop Trump themselves.

There's no way US annexing Canada triggers a NATO war, regardless of what the actual articles state. Trump invades Canada, and the rest of NATO sends some condemnations and maybe a few sanctions, but that's it. No way any country actually starts a shooting war against the US military

Canada as a single state would have as many electoral college votes as California, and essentially render the swing state races irrelevant.
You'd have republican candidates working and pining for Canada's favor for the foreseeable future as the it would all but certainly ensure democratic victories for as long as the nation willed it.
Trump should've specified territory instead of state, because as a state of the US it would #### his party indefinitely.
Like with many things in this world, gaining geopolitical dominion over all of our abundant and glorious resources comes with a cost.
And that's why you kindly #### off, be a nice neighbour and respect the trade partnership that's been established and which many US citizens and businesses benefit from.

I can't believe we're still talking about this stupid crap. I hope our leaders continue to tell Trump to go f*** himself.
