Medicine Hat pedophile murders 12 year old girlfriend's family
http://www.cbc.ca/canada/edmonton/st...hat-trial.html
Steinke came up the stairs, staggering and covered in blood, and screamed at her to kill her brother, she said. "He yells at me 'Stab him, just stab him! Slit his throat!'" she said. "I said, 'I can't, I can't,' and he said, 'You have to. I did this for you.'"
Weeping as she spoke, the accused said the little boy pleaded with her, saying: "I'm scared. I'm too young to die."
She said they had sex again in a friend's apartment after the killings, only hours before her family's bodies were discovered by her brother's friend.
Very very disturbing.
edit: she's 13 actually. typo.

She was 12 when they murdered her family. So sick on so many levels. I can barely read stuff like this any more. I usually make it about half way through and have to stop.

As a father of little boys, I find this part even more disturbing than the rest. It just enrages me that something like that would happen. Just how f#*$ed up do you have to be to pull that off?
Sorry, I just had to get that off my chest.

The guy might have been a pedophile but the girl deserves alot of the blame here - the dream like state bs is just that, bs.
Also poor parenting to allow a 13yo to date let alone someone that old.

I don't doubt that any of this happened as she says, but I don't think it makes her innocent by any stretch. How was a 12 year old visiting goth websites and getting online boyfriends, then talking about how she wanted to kill her family? Crazy, both of them.
( Link to older article mentioning the goth aspect.)

The chair would be to easy. Give em the same treatment they gave the mother, father, and son. Only do it slower and make them suffer ALOT of pain.
I can't believe she would try to kill her own brother.
The whole thing sickens me!

I've been following this in the papers for a few weeks (while the trial has been going on) and I gotta say, based on what I've read, it doesn't seem like the girl is all that innocent.
This is a serioulsy messed up situation,
There was testimony from friends of the 23 year old basically saying he and his 12 year old girlfriend had talked about killing her parents but they thought they were kidding.
Hey stupid friends. I've got news for you. When you're buddy is dating a freakin 12 year old, and they start making messed up comments like that, it's probably best to follow up on them...seriously, if the guy is messed up enought to date a 12 year old, don't you think he may have a few screws loose (ditto for the 12 year old who thinks her parents are against the relationship because they are mean).

I was wondering anyone on CP was following this story. I have been reading about it for a few days now, but it's not very big news here in Ontario.
I had tears in my eyes yesterday after that day's testimony. It is probably the most horrible thing I have ever heard. It was her own little brother, and he was pleading with her... it just breaks my heart.
I don't know what the maximum punishment she would get is, because of her age, does anyone?
One of the few times I would agree with the death penalty, and not a humane death either!!!

Excuse me, but I think the whole estrangement between the girl and her family was due to the fact that they did not want her to date the 23 year old. Please dont make blanket statements like this, at least let the dead rest in peace.

From the article:
The other accused is 23-year-old Jeremy Allan Steinke, whom friends have said sparked a romance with the young girl after meeting her in VampireFreaks.com, a website dedicated to the Goth lifestyle.
If I'm not mistaken the shooter at Dawson College in Montreal was linked to that same site. Although, I don't believe that visiting websites can turn people into killers, its certainly can't be good news for VampireFreaks.com.

All things considered, it's probably great for VampireFreaks.com, the "Hardcore Goth" website.

Neither do I, but I wonder if unbalanced people are attracted to sites like this? People who visit the site aren't all deranged, but deranged people all visit the site.

I think you've pretty much nailed it right there.
If you're a derranged kid who is into hurting small animals, you're probably a lot more likely to go on to kill people. And if that is your thing, you're likely going to be attracted to a website that is supposedly filled with hardcore goths.
Who knows though, maybe the realization that you've joined a community that consists mostly of whiny p***Y goth kids with nothing better to say than "life sux" and "I hate everyone", is enought to push you over the edge.

I thougth that about the Dawson College shootings too. Later on in this article it mentions this:
VampireFreaks.com has been previously named in connection with a murder case.
A mistrial was ordered in the murder of a young Toronto boy in 2005, after it was disclosed that the Crown's key witness posted information pertaining to the trial on the website.
Like you, I don't want to accuse the website of anything, but here is another murder case that it was linked to. That's quite a coincidence. If I had kids, I think this would be enough to make me block the site from them.

I agree, I'm sure that's where this whole sordid mess started, because her parents were against the relationship.
Not to say she isn't every bit as guilty as him, she is.
Another Bernardo/Homolka type story, "he made me do it".
It's BS

Wow. I just had a read on that vampirefreaks.com site and.....what a train wreck. The site is FILLED with "I hate my parents, I hate my school, I hate people who think I'm a freak, I'm 15 and in love with a 27 yr old, and my dad doesn't understand".....I read one thread where some girl was 15, met a guy on the site that was 27, and was completely in love with him, and was trying to figure out how to make the relationship work. WTF MAN????
Yeah, I know that people make their own decisions, and you can't go about blaming a website for a triple homicide, but when you create a forum where people can vent like they are over there, and allow members to freely associate with younger girls/boys with no repercussions.....it has to at least ADD fuel to the fire.
Talk about a lot of very confused adolescents.
