Still a good player but going through a slump.

Horrid take. He is paired with should be press box dmen. Flames need to find him a partner

Huberdeau has been fine - he created a bunch tonight. But Pospisil has not been very good. Kadri had a weird game like he normally does - great energy, some tunnel vision and made a play to score.

This. The D is really lacking right now. Barrie has lost his legs and is not good in his own end. Miromanov has stagnated into a bottom pairing guy at best. Hanley can be good at times but realistically is a #6-7 D man. Bean is just fn terrible and shouldn't see the ice again. This team really misses Bahl but even with him back there is still only 4 solid D men on this roster. I would really like to see some of these good young players on the Wranglers get a look. Like Kuznetsov can't possibly be worse than Jake Bean.

Need to pull points out of tomorrow's game.
In front of vladar on the road b2b it may be their biggest test yet.

Kuznetsov, Gruschnikov, Brz..
Weren't we expecting looks at these guys sooner than later.
Anything is better than Barrie when he's not on.

He's never on. He's a replacement level player.

And yet...they keep shooting from the blue line and well beyond the hash marks...*when* they choose to shoot, which is still too predictable and too seldom.
Sigh...they had chances...often threw the puck away in the O-zone instead of at least taking a wild-ass chance at the net.

I really liked Farabee in the 1st. That Kadri line was buzzing every shift and the Flames were dominating. Farabee was a bit snakebitten, but a good sign in my eyes. That line didn't generate as much in the 2nd, and 3rd, but that has a lot to do with DET boxing players out effectively.
As far as Frost he was the opposite for me. He took longer to get comfortable, but got better as the game went on. I really liked his defensive play today. Always being there for the D, covering for them etc. Sharangovich still looks lost out there, so that didn't help things. I liked Frost skating the puck out, and as an option on PP entries. All in all I want to see more.
It was a typical DET game. Play well and press most of the game but give up way too many slot chances, with a couple of 2 on 1s sprinkled in. Onto the next one, good effort, bad stylistic match for the Flames.

He's also got the most giveaways in the league right now at 94 and most defensive zone giveaways at 62.

Also very funny/ cool Lomberg was his best man and his wife's maid of honor and Kirkland thinking he was never going to remember and show up the next day.

GIVE_d is an input for xGA. You can't give it away if you never have possession. If you have a superior possession skill and a lot of ice time, you will have more giveaways than other people.

Wolf has been fantastic all year, and will continue to do so, but similar to vladar last time that goal at the end of the first is one hed needed to stop. Putting this team back by 2 is a tough ask for a team that doesnt generate a lot of goals.
Which brings me to the other problem tonight was our lack of skill was on show tonight. There felt like a lot of times where we had clear lane but just couldnt hit the net. We certainly got goalied by Talbot when we did, but they need to be taking the chances they generate.
I liked both Frost and Farabee and feel they will be good additions to the team once they get settled in. Adding Zary back in will help a lot as well.
Detroit do a good job of filling up the middle of the ice.
I was surprised by the 4th line stats from Bingo tonight, as it looked they generated as many chances as there were against them, but I guess not.
Oh well, you win some and lose some, onto Seattle.

I was watching the game in a pub so couldn’t really focus on them but what did everyone think of Farabee and Frost?
Still an upgrade over Kuzmenko and Pelletier?

Anybody at this rate is an upgrade over Kuz. Frost and Farabee down the line are going to be huge upgrades.
Will miss Pelts but he needed better opportunity and I am glad he goes in Philly. Hopefully will want to come back to us in the future if he improves.

Over the stretch where the Kadri line was hot, Kadri and Huberdeau each had like 12 points in 10 games, and Pospisil, playing with them, had 2. The energy is great, but he can't contribute offensively. And it's the Flames' top offensive line. He is a waste of that space.
Pelletier was great, because he provided energy and went to the net, and actually got some puck luck while he was on the line.
Farabee is more suited to that line than wither Pospisil or Pelletier. He is fast (like Pelts), plays with an edge (like Posps), but actually has hands and some offensive ability. And he goes to the net, which is the most important thing for that line (that, and good hands).
Let's give it more than one game, people. Kadri is REALLY hard to play with - he's a puck hog, and he is all over the place. No one has any idea what he'll do next. Huberdeau has figured out how to be effective with him. Once Farabee figures out that Huberdeau will find him when he' open, and that if Kadri has the puck, just go to the net, I am sure he will be effective in that role.
Switching back to Pospisil is just giving up. It's pointless. So let's give this experiment more than one game.
