So we should just accept any Tariffs he imposes? This guy should have been shot in the head last year and that guy would have been a hero.
Trump is going to destroy so many people's lives, including those in his own country.

As long as they tariffs are strategic, encourage local spending and aren't placed on products that will severely impact people's livelihoods.
For example I don't think one is going to be ruined by being faced with really expensive bourbon. Well, at least most people..

I think this would be a good time for Canada and Europe to start looking at breaking up US big tech. The real subsidy here is all entire world giving free access of their population to the big American tech companies, Meta and Google in particular offer very little value but extract plenty of money.

Trudeau nailed it.
I kind of wish it was stronger, but understand the pragmatic reality of phasing in, and keeping some of our powder dry.
What we really need is the EU, China and others to further isolate and punish the US so it has no choice but to back down. Donald is a maniac, but he has survival instinct. Have to fight with strength.

For those on Facebook, there is a group called Buy Canadian, Help Our Economy with a great spreadsheet listing Canadian options to American products. Someone put a lot of work into it.

You gotta save some for when Trump ramps the tariff to 50% next week or the week after. That’s when you go nuclear. You need to be proportional in response so I think Canada and Trudeau did the right thing here.

When the US hit steel and aluminum in 2018-2019, Canada retaliated with this list of tarrifs including many types of goods. We hit $16.6 billion of goods.

Mexico just announced joint retaliatory tariffs along with Canada. Today we are in the hundreds of billions between both countries.
#### around and find out.

Anyone against this should be deeply embarrassed that they’ve sunk so far into the bull#### being spewed.

Did nobody see the release of American hostages in Venezuela earlier this week? Pretty obvious why, Trump is going to use the threat of replacing Canadian oil with imports from Venezuela to secure a better price.
Canada threatening retaliatory tariffs on things like bourbon and orange juice is hilarious. We'd be better off threatening to throw snowballs over the border. Canadians boycotting American products will just mean that they'll be cheaper for American consumers to buy.

Price of eggs go down yet? Trumps been so lazer focussed on affordability he probably dealt with that on day one. Ws all around for blue collar Americans. American auto workers should probably start thinking about trading in their Trump crypto for some real money soon because they will be out of a job pretty soon.

So if you know an American, hold them hostage and we can use them to bargain with to secure a better deal on our commodities.

Never thought I’d see the day… conservatives advocating that appeasement with a bully was the way to go. A lot of conservatives of days past rolling over in their graves.

Will they though? I'm thinking most UAW workers are looking at plant expansions /retools and a lot of overtime in the near future. American automotive manufacturers won't be permitted to take advantage of cheap labour across the border in Ontario anymore.
