I feel like this is a love letter to Steely Dan and I love it.

After watching A Complete Unknown, I've been on a bit of a reminiscent journey reviewing folk in the 1960's. Most of the contemporaries of Dylan were probably better musicians and performers than him, but he got all the glory. Funny how that works.
Anyway, a song for a cold winter night you are all probably having back home. RIP Gord.

One of my frustrations with getting older is not that I'm unable to be in touch with good art, but that I simply have too many responsibilities to hunt for it. I get maybe an hour a day for myself. There's just not enough time to find music that I truly appreciate, and sometimes it falls in circles that I don't frequent like country-adjacent.
For that reason, I'm late to the Waxahatchee scene, but oh man, what a great sound. Even though it's simple music, there's something in the tone and composition of the songs that really get to me. Doesn't hurt to have MJ Lenderman add his talents as well.

I turn 45 today, so of course I was openly musing about songs with the number "45" in them...then I had a flash memory of this one hit wonder from the 90s.
Have any of you listened to this song lately? It starts out fun and then quickly becomes the most annoying song of all time.

A lot of hay has already been made about Tyler, The Creator's latest album in the last few months, but this non-single that samples Brazilian classical guitarist Rosinha De Valenca is just so tight and incredible, especially as part of the albums narrative, but stands so tall on it's own.
Quite possibly my favorite song of 2024. Top 5 at least.
I watched the Fire Aid concerts from LA on Disney+.
Some notable performances - Stevie Nicks, John Fogerty, Nirvana with St. Vincent and Kim Gordon, Earth Wind & Fire, Joni Mitchell, Stevie Wonder and Sting, No Doubt.
Joni brought a tear to my eye. Legend.
