Who is the #2 center for Florida Panthers? Bennett had a career year of 49 points and Lundell had a career year of 44 (may pass that this year). Frost is comparable points wise with a best of 46.

It seems like with some posters that you are either one of the two or three best centers or your a bottom six scrub, not much in between.
I hope with a change of coaching, scenery, trust and respect this already middle six c at 40+ points, becomes a top six c at 60+ points. With zary trending to top six c and kadri already playing at top six c levels we can compare depth wise even if someone elses first line is better than ours.

I do appreciate that Farabee brings some sandpaper to the lineup as well. Flames are usually a better team when they have a lot of sandpaper throughout the lineup as opposed to nothing, or just one big heavyweight. Farabee has a nice blend of skill, speed and grit.

Yeah, I prefer this kind of grit over the whole “Lucic is on patrol” era. They don’t need some goon taking up space, guys stick up for themselves and aren’t afraid to ride the line. Kadri getting hit by Trouba and going after him himself was the perfect example. Pospisil, Lomberg, Weegar, Coleman, Andersson, Pachal and now Farabee. Building a nice collection of guys who don’t take crap.

When we traded for Lindholm he was 24 and looking like he plateaud at a 40-50 pt player. That's most likely what Carolina thought anyway.
He got 78 pts his first year with CGY. If either one of these guys takes a leap like that it's a steal of a deal. And I have a feeling it's going to happen.

Even if Frost plateaus as a 3rd line center, I like the trade. Players like that always have value.

How many points do they need over the rest of the season to offset the excess emissions Conroy used flying to get them ?

We’ll have to do some calculations come playoffs. If we get in on the back of Conroy’s trade and play Winnipeg, travel emissions would be lower playing us as opposed to Wpg playing Vancouver.

They have to have chemistry with Huberdeau
Lindholm has never been the same without Johnny

Different situations and players. It's unlikely Frost is anywhere near a ppg. But Calgary needs more defensive forwards, especially at C. If he can put up 45 points while playing strong defensively then he is a big add.

Not even laced on skates as a Flame yet and we can get this whole bull#### debate started. Is he a top-6? A middle-6? A number 2, but not a "true" number 2? Is his ceiling a middle-of-the pack 2, or a high number 3? Is his floor good enough to stay in the top 9?
Let's maybe see how he plays as a member of this team? That might contain some important data points. It could be downright illuminating.

Yeah I like this trade right now, I like the potential, and like you said I like it even if one (maybe both) of them had plateaued.

I'm glad we got rid of Kuzmenko. Anyone who refuses to wear a pride jersey can take a hike. We never should have brought him in.

FWIW, Frank on another show said that he wouldn't be surprised if we were talking about a 65-70 point center in Frost next season.
Being close to the Flyers, it seems like he has a pulse on that team and these players. (normally wouldn't take him as an expert but this might be an exception)
He said no matter how well Farabee and Frost played, offensively or in both zones, they were in the coach's doghouse.
Said these guys were in dire need of a change of scenery.

Over the last 2 seasons, he is 137th among forwards in pts. That makes him mid-second liner. He's already consistently better than what you are claiming to be his upside. At 24.

I am higher on Frost from the times I've watched Philly.
I don't think it's a bad trade, I just think it's a high risk high reward trade, which is a fine strategy IMO.

With the cap going up so dramatically, and expected to continue rising steeply, cap space isn’t worth anything close to what it was a couple years ago. This deal is weaponizing cap space by getting a good young player who is somewhat overpaid. Nobody is handing out 1sts to take on $6 mil contracts anymore.
