Conventionality is not in the eye of the beholder. I think you'd hold your own long term.

Recently it’s been people starting sentences with “Imagine…” and going on to post something that requires no imagination whatsoever. Generally it seems imagine as an opener is meant to come across condescending towards someone with a poor opinion. Well it doesn’t take much imagination to know people believe in stupid ideas.

Edit: Hey OutOfTheCube, any guesses as to what the next 5 posts are going to start with?

Imagine! Posts starting with 'imagine' simply for the mere purposes of gear grinding!

Of course I can imagine someone doing that, it’s politics and many people have “a side”. Yeah it’s a silly view but not hard to imagine.

Can you list them so they can be judged?

With the pop up ads, we proved that many threads in many locations all bumped regularly can annoy the powers that be into complying with our wishes.

Just saying. With a little gumption, we could #### that #### up.

Was wondering...do you say "pop" now that you've been in Canada for some years, or are you sticking with "soda"?

I would say 50/30/20 for using brand name/soda/pop. I don’t get made fun of for saying soda around Canadian friends as much as I do for saying pop in front of US friends/family.

In some areas in the U.S. “pop” is commonly used.

Imagine that.

Yeah, you don't realize how lame 'pop' is to say until you're around Americans who don't use that term. I think it might come across as kind of infantile or something.

Some Americans say "sodie" which is about as infantile as I can imagine.

Might as well go for a soda.
