That's awesome, love trips like that on a whim. Kansas City is near the top of my list of stadiums to visit for that A++ tailgating. I thought the parking price was insane until I remembered the tailgating; basically charging you for an assumed party spot for several hours beforehand.
I tried to do the NFC Championship Game back in 2018 on a Black Friday deal when my Saints were looking like they may host it. Took a chance with the guess, which actually worked out...except I miscounted the week that far in advance & booked it for the Divisional round weekend instead by accident.
Thank jebus though, as the following weekend was the infamous no PI call vs the Rams. If that was my 1st game in the Superdome, I may have quit being an NFL fan lol. Being there live to see my favourite player get the game-sealing interception to dethrone the defending SB champ Eagles, then party in the wild streets of New Orleans after was infinitely better. I swear it took me almost a week to recover from that night.
Glad you had a great time! The memories from trips like that are worth the price.

I would still bet the Chiefs to win this game, but to say the Eagles haven't defeated any good teams just isn't true.

You're gonna have to read my post again because that's not nearly what I said.
Also, regular season and playoffs is different.

If we're going off playoff performances, the Commanders easily outplayed the Bills and Ravens this year.
I'd argue the Rams put up more of a fight than the Ravens did.

I’m mildly interested. Don’t follow the NFL much. Is KC expected to win fairly handily? They seem to be slight favourites.

They're slight favourites based on the fact that they have the better QB and a history of winning the thing. On actual talent on the roster overall, you'd have to probably lean Eagles.

Hey, so recent NFL fan here the past couple years. Started really watching last year, as it was a way for my mom and I to spend time together when she wasn't very mobile during her cancer battle.
Are there any good YouTube channels for explaining the various plays, strategy, mechanics of the game? I have (I think?) a decent understanding of the basics, but I'd like to learn more of the specifics. I'm thinking maybe not as basic as ELI5, but also not presuming I know a bunch about the game.

I have a friend who’d be interested in the same thing for the nuances of CFL rules and such. He has the basics but is interested in more obscure things like terminology such as blitz, cover five, o-line terminology, and such.

Are you a gamer? I think a good way to understand the basics of the different positions, formations and play-calling is to play Madden for a bit.

Well...I think I need to bite the bullet and not watch the big event next week. Try and eliminate as much of my personal consumption of American products as I can. If we are going to boycott American goods...have to add entertainment into that too. I'll check the score, and still have some interest in who wins the game...40 years of habit is hard to drop.

Chip Kelly is returning to the NFL to become the Las Vegas Raiders' offensive coordinator under new head coach Pete Carroll, sources told ESPN's Adam Schefter and Pete Thamel on Sunday.
Kelly, 61, spent the past seven years in college football, including last season as the offensive coordinator and quarterback coach for national champion Ohio State, which averaged 35.7 points in going 14-2, including a 34-23 defeat of Notre Dame for the national title.

This is rather startling....New Orleans Saints helped cover up sexual abuse in the Catholic church hierarchy in their city.
Abhorrent if true.
Quote:
As New Orleans church leaders braced for the fallout from publishing a list of predatory Catholic priests, they turned to an unlikely ally: the front office of the city's NFL franchise.
What followed was a monthslong, crisis-communications blitz orchestrated by the New Orleans Saints' president and other top team officials, according to hundreds of internal emails obtained by The Associated Press.
Among the key moments, as revealed in the Saints' own emails:
• Saints executives were so involved in the church's damage control that a team spokesman briefed his boss on a 2018 call with the city's top prosecutor hours before the church released a list of clergymen accused of abuse. The call, the spokesman said, "allowed us to take certain people off" the list.
• Team officials were among the first people outside the church to view that list, a carefully curated, yet undercounted roster of suspected pedophiles. The disclosure of those names invited civil claims against the church and drew attention from federal and state law enforcement.
• The team's president, Dennis Lauscha, drafted more than a dozen questions that Archbishop Gregory Aymond should be prepared to answer as he faced reporters.
• The Saints' senior vice president of communications, Greg Bensel, provided fly-on-the-wall updates to Lauscha about local media interviews, suggesting church and team leaders were all on the same team. "He is doing well," Bensel wrote as the archbishop told reporters the church was committed to addressing the crisis. "That is our message," Bensel added, "that we will not stop here today."
The emails obtained by AP sharply undercut assurances the Saints gave fans about the public relations guidance five years ago when they asserted they had provided only "minimal" assistance to the church. The team went to court to keep its internal emails secret.

The one time the 'cancon' commercial substitution works in our favour

I wonder if the officiating ends up favoring the Eagles in this one as there's been so much talk about the Chiefs favoritism and fixing that with the officials under the microscope may go out of their way not to make any close calls in favor of the Chiefs.

Doubtful, there already was lots of talk prior to the Bills game and we saw what happened there.

Here's the obligatory US broadcast post, but does anyone know if Tubi in Canada will have the Fox broadcast? I know that Tubi is showing the Fox broadcast but I don't know if there is any geo-blocking/restrictions on Tubi outside the US. The Shaw tv programming interface has Tubi installed on it so I'm hoping with that it will actually be easy to get the US broadcast.

From what I've Google'd anyway, it sounds like DAZN will have the commercials. I'm not sure if I necessarily trust that, but we shall see tomorrow.
