I'll be honest all the complaints about the tush push play and the spot are annoying me today.
I don't want to get rid of the tush push and make it illegal like some do...but I'd love if they some how removed forward motion as the rule on QB sneak plays like that.
For the endzone I'm okay with breaking the plain, but on that tush push yesterday the ball actually ends up 2 yards behind the line of scrimmage when Allen is tackled.
Feels against the spirit of forward motion rule to me on these sneak and tush push plays, as an offense if you want to get in a rugby scrum...then where the ball is when you're down is where it's spotted.
It's probably also why I can't blame the loss on that play...pick a better play that leaves no doubt and doesn't end with you down two yards behind the first down line.

That's kind of my point.
They are so good as a team that they have a great offensive mind in Reid, and the guy that's probably still the best QB in the league when he wants to turn it on...and they rarely have to turn it on because they are good on Defense and Special Teams.
Like I wouldn't be surprised at all if we see some new wrinkles in the Super Bowl with Hopkins, Hollywood Brown, Watson, and DSS that they haven't had to break out yet because they haven't had to because I think they've rarely been down by more than a score in any game lately.

What got me those last two drives and even the last D sequence for the Chiefs is how friggen calm the whole team was. That experience and veteran savvy just exists on a different plane for them.
Like Pinder said on BB today, Reid, Spagnuolo, Mahomes are simply the best at their respective positions. And the coaching advantage is enough to tilt a close game. Firing McDermott wouldn't get the Bills a coaching staff that changes that.

You can add in Dave Toub as the Special Teams coach. Chiefs are fortunate to be able to keep a staff with those two alongside Andy Reid as long as they have.
Being solid at every phase of the game makes the Chiefs hard to beat.

The Eagles are an elite team and deserve to be here. No question.
That said, you look at the teams they've beaten to get here - Packers, Rams, Commanders. To me, none of those are elite. Good teams yes, but not elite. (And the win over the Rams was blizzard-aided)
Contrast that to the Chiefs who beat an elite team (Bills) who themselves beat an elite team (Ravens) the prior week.
The Eagles have a lot going for them, but the Chiefs have people to whom the term "proven winners" is a massive understatement. Those people just know how to win. If the QB of the Chiefs was anyone other than Mahomes, I'd be putting money on the Eagles. But betting against Mahomes is a fool's errand.
As for the Bills and their fans, it's simply a matter of bad luck. The Allen era just so happens to coincide with the Mahomes/Reid era. You're not going to win much when possibly the greatest QB/coach tandem in league history is standing in your way.

Mahomes has lost 1 playoff game in 7 years that wasn't a one score game.
Super Bowl LV: 31-9 to the Buccaneers which is probably easily the worst playoff game of his career.
Outside of that he has two losses:
Lost 37-31 to the Patriots in OT - didn't even get a chance to score in OT.
Lost 27-24 to the Bengals in OT - threw an interception in OT.
It's pretty crazy that 2 OT losses are all that keep this team from being in 7 straight Super Bowls.

Mahomes > Hurts
Reid > Sirianni
The defenses are pretty similar overall with both being top 4 defenses in terms of scoring this year.
But Barkley, Brown, Smith, Dotson, Goedert >> Hunt, Worthy, Hopkins, Brown, Kelce
The game probably comes down to playmakers, and Philly has the better weapons for Hurts to leverage than Mahomes, especially with how Barkley is playing.
In the end the experience and coaching give the Chiefs a chance, but it should be a great game for sure.

One thing I hope the Flames do in their new arena is make the visitors dressing room an uncomfortable dump that is below minimum expected standard...and make the officials dressing room nicer than what they have for their own players. The Chiefs are proof that this is brilliant.

Eagles beat the brakes off the Ravens in in December. The score completely flattered the Ravens, thanks to a garbage time TD.
They also beat the Rams twice, who trounced the Bills.
Overall, the NFC was the better conference this year.
I would still bet the Chiefs to win this game, but to say the Eagles haven't defeated any good teams just isn't true.
On Sunday I missed my first NFC Championship game since I was a kid. To be fair I had a pretty good excuse since I was at Arrowhead for the AFC Championship game. It just so happens that two of my best friends are a Bills fan and a Chiefs fan, both of their wives are Swifties, so I off the cuff suggested we should go, and so we did exactly that. Was a bit a of a jaunt because flights from Calgary to Kansas City were stupidly expensive; cheapest we could find were $1600 per person and those required layovers of 4 hours on the way down and 6 hours on the way back. So we flew to St. Louis with only 45 minute layovers each way in Denver, and those were under $700 a person, and we just drove the 3.5 hours to KC (favourite part of the drive was some random, massive titty bar just off I70, about 70 miles outside KC...God Bless America).
The game day experience was a ton of fun. Got there three hours before the game to tailgate and it was amazing to see how much cooking was going on. We read in advance to just offer up beers and people who happily share their grub, so we brought a 36 pack and gave a bunch away and had a full belly going into the game. Bills fans showed out huge and there was a massive pile of tables in one of the rows where they had taken over. So many random jerseys too (Kelvin Benjamin Bills jersey? LeSean McCoy Chiefs jersey?) that just make you laugh. Going into the stadium itself was pretty ridiculous, very poorly structured to get good lines flowing, its kind of just chaotic with no rhyme or reason. But made it inside with about 20 minutes before kickoff so had no time really to explore the stadium.
We were in the second level, about halfway up, and still felt like we were right on top of the field. Not a bad seat in the house I would say. Sat on the Chiefs side and was stunned by how much Bills Mafia took over the lower bowl on the Bills side, I would say at least 30% of the fans were in blue. Even the Chiefs fans I talked too were impressed how many Bills fans were there. It was thankfully not too bad for cold, but it helps when 76,000 people are all standing and producing lots of body heat with the support. And being Canadian helps cause you know how to bundle. Whenever there was a break and people would sit down is when the cold got more noticeable. Bathrooms are well set up with actual entrances and exits so no bad lines, but definitely the first stadium in North America I've seen with troughs in the bathroom. So not a great stadium for the pee shy. And while it was definitely loud in there it was only really hard to think loud in the biggest plays, but having been to many metal shows over the years it wasn't anything crushing. But the lower bowl might be a different story. Still impressive how loud they get without pumping in the noise like the Colts.
As for the game itself it was obvious right away that Josh was nervous and a big part of me thinks if the Chiefs didn't force a play for Pacheco that caused the fumble they might have won a laugher. Probably would have gone up 14-3 and the pressure on the Bills might have made Josh force the ball more. But after that it was a very even game, both pass rushes struggled to get much going so the QBs were comfortable, Bills did great with the outside runs but strangely went away from it in the fourth quarter. I know there was a lot of criticism for that third and 10 screen play that set up the final fourth down, but when Cooper caught it I thought he was gone, the Bills had 3 v 2 once he caught it, but Karlaftis made a hell of a play to get back there to tackle Cooper. Wasn't quite like 13 seconds as a classic, but it was still a phenomenal game and an incredible atmosphere, and I wish it could be Sunday at 530pm KC time again.
The exit process, well, it's ####ed. No transit options to get to the stadium, and Uber is a non-starter since we read horror stories of people waiting hours after games to get picked up. So we drove and yeah it was probably an hour to get out, and because you have tons of drivers trying to get out, and tons of fans trying to get to their cars, it seems like a recipe for disaster. Saw many close calls of people nearly getting hit by cars. But better to slowly wait in the warm car then praying for an Uber or cab. But $70 USD to park in GA, or $330 USD to be in the gold lot....yeah. But whatever, no other real option.
Overall it was worth every penny. I think something like that is far better bang for buck than a Super Bowl cause the atmosphere is much more intense than the corporate schmooze that is the Super Bowl. And now we're all hoping the Bills can host the rematch next year so we can go experience that too.

I heard this same thing about Arrowhead that all the seats and the angles of the stands is great.
Better tailgating setup, lights under your car and it's closer to the stadium are pretty much it. Of course, the flip side is it's also longer to get out after the game cause your further from the exit.

Sounds like a ton of fun, jelly.
It's funny cause when you walk into the stadium from the lot it gives the appearance that it's more spaced out than it is, but it didn't feel cramped at all. Also learned a protip to bring cardboard to stand on to help with the feet getting cold. But thankfully it stayed in the -3 celcius range so not too bad.

Being a fan at a Conference Championship where your team wins at home would be awesome. Especially if it was like Detroit or Buffalo winning the game and getting to thecSuperbowl for the first time in seemingly forever (2020 in Arrowhead would have been that).
But I'm such a terrible fan I don't know if I could handle that. I was going Jovanovski over the Bill's recovering 4 of their own fumbles. If it was a game in a NFC stadium where I liked the team but they're not the Chiefs, I'd probably have more fun. Which admittedly is dumb because sports should be fun and watching your favorite team should be that.

It was definitely nice to be there and only worry about rooting for a great game, I'm sure I would have been making more bathroom trips with a rooting interesting. But I feel like the only scenario where it wouldn't be a ton of fun is watching your team lose a blowout. Going to somewhere like Arrowhead or Buffalo or Philly where the fans are such diehards makes for a way better experience than say going to LA.
