I want Rooney replaced as much as the next guy. Don’t have a problem if they need to do a trade for it. That said the player has to have term. Big no to trading a late pick for a ufa.

So by your definition, if a team spends any assets whatsoever to acquire a player that isn't a superstar, they're not rebuilding?
Which pretty much means there has never been a rebuild in the history of the league.

So no, I'm not going to bother engaging with you by going over the last 20 years of NHL trade history, transaction by transaction, to show where teams have traded picks or prospects to fill roster holes. Because you'll just move the goalposts again and say that those teams weren't rebuilding, or don't count because reasons.

I see where you're mistaken. You think this is a rebuild. It's not. Rationalize it any which way you want to but I think it's fairly obvious the Flames don't think they're rebuilding.
You're going to lose your mind over the next couple of seasons when they make moves.

If they aren’t rebuilding they should just move the franchise because they have no clue what they are doing.
Do the Aarongravey and Vegas this thing and come back as an expansion team.

I think any pick for Kunin is a top pick because he is not that good lol. What is the point of trading any pick for a 4th line UFA that’s getting big minutes on a bad team? Do nothing is better than that.

Hey, I'm not running the team I'm just talking about rumors shared on this site. oilfan81 says his SJ contact has the Flames kicking tires on Kunin. I'm saying that makes sense given what we know about Connie's needs/wants.

I don’t think you have to. They already have shown their intentions with their moves. The never rebuilding angle gets tiresome when that’s basically what they did going into this season. Maybe they pivot from here because of Wolf but we will see.
