Look at this guy simping for Ron MacLean. Every hockey fan can't stand him unless you are a fan of Edmonton or Toronto. What is he, your uncle?

Well that's not true. I still enjoy MacLean. I couldn't care less who he's a fan of.

George Stroumboulopoulos.
He's an unapologetic Habs simper, but I can largely deal with that.
I'm thinking...bring back the 'Prodigal Son.'
I want him angry, chain-smoking, drunk and bitter.
Now thats an intermission I'd watch!! You could sell tickets to that!

His comment the other night about how Ovi is only 20 away from Gretzky but made damn sure to qualify it by saying Ovi had more empty net goals was pathetic.
He’s a decade past his best before date.

Simping, lol. I’m not a fan of either of those teams, thanks. If “every fan” hated him he wouldn’t be working.

I get it, you’re nostalgic and appreciate having the corpse of Ron sitting there, in all of its overwhelming mediocrity. Don’t need to lash out at everyone else for it.
Ron rode the wave of Don to a very successful career, sitting alongside him in his most controversial moments, generally without comment. Advocated for him to be greatest Canadian, then threw him under the bus the moment it was convenient. Nevermind all the performative world salad BS. Screw him, he should be gone.

3. "Everything Edmonton?" It is a darn lovely river valley. They do have a newer sperm-shaped rink. Pissy and McCrosscheckintheFace are good hockey players (those crossovers are delightful) when they play hockey. See point #1. They very often don't play hockey, though. They are both very dirty players who get away with it for 'reasons.' See #1 again, but also, any hockey fan should be enraged that one team is favoured over others in terms of how the rules are called in the same situation.
4. I am glad we can entertain you.
5. "Freaking Amazing At What He Does" Can you not see the hyperbole here?
6. Ron is corny but does the job well. No. No, he does not. He could. Lots of talent there. He loves the smell of his own farts too much to shut up and be the master of ceremonies to let the 'experts' talk.
7. "It is unfortunate" the Flames have not had a decade of darkness to allow them to go to the front of the line to get multiple first-overall picks? How is this unfortunate? Being rewarded for being oh so bad seems like the wrong objective here. Never mind, the only thing they have accomplished with all of that 'success' is being able to watch pretty crossovers and nut spears.
8. Stop the incessant whining? First, see #1 above. Second, see 2-7 above. Third, this is a website of a provincial rival (see #1 above again) Don't come here if you don't like how it treats your very special little pets. Fourthly, Habs suck.
Good day.

I like Ron. I don’t really watch him anymore though so I’m basing that opinion on by gone days. I can’t watch the panel since they started their oiler lovein. I just fast forward. Or switch channels.
It wasn’t his finest hour when they canned Cherry. That was pretty weak.
I’m assuming he gets paid well. He’s 64 so I’m guessing he won’t be around much longer by his choice. I think he’s probably earned that decision but that industry is pretty cutthroat. I don’t think you guys will have to wait much longer. I think it’ll happen in the next year or two organically.

It’s fine to promote a superstar
But
When his name is injected into every conversation about every team, player and even sport. Its quickly annoying
“Connor McDavid wasn’t even born when Joe Louis was champ, but if he was, his shirts would have been made by…”

The Oilers love is palpable, but I can look past that.
Overall though?
- Hes not Gord Downey, he should stop trying to be.
- The only thing he loves more than the Oilers and bad homemade poetry is the Refereeing, which is objectively awful.
- Did I mention the homemade poetry? That dreck would slay a Vogon.
- Nobody cares what happened to some guy's mom in the WHL in 1963 on the farm or whatever.
And finally, he's past it. He just doesnt understand the game anymore. Its obvious. Whenever he talks with anyone about hockey its clear he is like 30 some-odd years out of date.
Things have changed Ron.

I used to love Coaches Corner when Cherry would simply tell Ron to shut up once he started to babble too much. Now there's no one there to tell him when to shut up and stop talking and let others voice opinions. To me the guy is unbearable to watch on television.
He seems like he's actually a pretty good guy off air though, he's at all sorts of fund raisers and small town events to help raise awareness.
Can't stand him on air though.

Agreed. I met him in the Toronto airport once. Nice guy. Friendly, pleasant when he’s off air. On-Air though, I at a point of changing the channel. If it wasn’t for Bieksa and to a small part Hrudey, I’d change the channel or mute it.

I could care less about your opinion with comments like this. It reminds me of the comments about the like for Prime broadcasts instead of CBC. My suggestion to you is that if you don't like Ron, stop watching between periods. Like others, I'm tired of your whining.
