Interesting to me that Craig and company have been happy to bring up/cycle in forwards from the wranglers but they’ve not touched the D.

I think Kuznetsov should be the guy.

This team wont win a lot of 5-4 games.

They can win games 3-2. That's where YK can help. Great big D first guy who makes Wolfs life easier as his major contribution.

Strongly agree.

I don't know if anyone else noticed but during Lomberg tuning in the Wild player ,Pelletier was just barking at him . He was really just giving it to the wild player or hyping Lomberg up but it was boarderline rabid when no othe player was really yapping.

He was just going off.

Can someone with better editing skills post a gif. Of the fight to show this?

The defense has been healthy. All the injuries have been up front.

They have multiple paths now too...by points% they are in WC one and within 3 points of a divisional spot with head to heads vs. LA

Vancouver is cratering.

It’ll be interesting to see what happens to colorado. We might pass them.

Minnesota is cooling off

St. Louis is falling back

Great to get these 2 points. Will be in tough against Winnipeg tomorrow especially after losing Bahl. But this team continues to surprise. Will be a real test for the next few weeks if Bahl is out for that time. It’s tough enough for this team to out-work teams every night (which they do)… to add significant injuries up front (Zary) and on the defence (Bahl) is even more adversity to face. The way they play though, they may just continue surprising and push through.

Something important about this team is that, more often than not, they do seem to set the tone or style of the game. By that I mean, they force teams to play their game. Very tight-checking and little speed through the neutral zone. I mean that in the most positive way. It shows strong coaching and complete buy-in from the players. A team comes in and wants to out-skill the flames but the flames don’t let them. They take away so much space and are so relentless that the flames negate any potential talent deficit against teams. Obviously this may not happen every night or all game but for the vast majority of games (even ones the flames may lose), teams are forced to play a game dictated by the flames.

You go watch a Chicago game or a San Jose game or a Montreal game - it’s so much time and space out there for players on both sides. No tight checking. It’s just endless skill plays. Which can work if you have skill (Montreal has a decent amount) but doesn’t work at all if you don’t have the skill (Chicago).

If you're going to make the POs, might as well bust the Oilers season.

Anything beyond that is just gravy.

Not bad. Kuzmenko now has twice as many goals as he had this morning. That presumably means he'll score four next game, and eight the game after.

And it's always good to see the Baby-Eating Bishop of Bath and Wells score.

Great win! Couldn't watch but saw the highlights. Lomberg is such a beauty. Next game against Minny Lauko needs his *ss kicked again. Once isn't enough.

I’m not sure that Jon Abbott can handle having two “Kuznetsov”s on the team.
