Canadian indie-rock vet Ian Blurton just released another blast of 70s/early 80s style hard rock with his current solo band Future Now.

Apparently there's also a new Change of Heart album coming soon featuring all of the original members.

Meant to circle back to this early but what an absolutely fantastic show this was. Not being a 20something lesbian you do stand out at a Adrienne Lenker show but she is a beautiful person to see live. Her music is stunning. Loved the intimate setting, she stayed seated for most (I think) of the show. Sadness as a Gift early in the show and Anything finishing out the setlist made me emotional to say the least.

During the Big Thief show in Vancouver they opened with Real House and she ended her show in Toronto with it as an encore.

This has won my favourite song of 2024 because I'm firmly entering my "sad dad music" stage:

Here's my top 10. There was enough great music to do a top 100 but that would be too much.

Fontaines D.C. - Romance
Cindy Lee - Diamond Jubilee
Redd Kross - Redd Kross
Mount Eerie - Night Palace
St. Lenox - Ten Modern American Work Songs
Shellac - To All Trains
Waxahatchee - Tiger's Blood
Torres - What an Enormous Room
Old 97's - American Primitive
Mannequin ##### - I Got Heaven

These 10 didn't make the cut but were high in number of listens.

Goat Girl - Below the Waste
Charli XCX - Brat
Alejandro Escovado - Echo Dancing
Idles - TANGK
Daniel Romano - Too Hot to Sleep
Beachwood Sparks - Across the River of Stars
Jack White - No Name
Amyl and the Sniffers - Cartoon Darkness
Adrianne Lenker - Bright Future
Beth Gibbons - Lives Outgrown

Not new *technically * but the new leaked Eminem songs are pretty fire in particular Smack. If that was released back then he'd have been crowned goat back then . I don't think another rapper would of stepped up after that ala Machine gun Kelly. Like 50 and Eminem won the Ja beef without this song this song would have raised tensions again for sure.
