I cant say about the best crust I've had in Calgary, but in Chicago?
Man...Chicago Deep Dish here is not 'real' Chicago deep dish pizza.
I'm not going to get into all of it, but their 'crust' is like cake. Its insane.

Ha ha, no it is not. Try Windy City in Airdrie. It has the troutman seal of approval and I trust anything he says is good is truly good.

I meant, the actual brand 'Chicago Deep Dish.'

Besides...you know I'd never go to Airdrie without a gun pointed to my head and even then...I'd tell them to pull the trigger.
Nothing is worth spending time in Airdrie. Tis a silly place.

My wife's physiotherapist moved there, so we go there and sometimes have dinner somewhere.
NGL they do a far better job of plowing the streets than Calgary.

They have far fewer of them.

I have questions then. Where was everyone who was claiming to be eating this pizza in Airdrie actually eating then?

My reviews from last 2 years (I don't eat much pizza, tend to enjoy NY style (rare to find) and greek/pub (crisped cheese to edge):
Nikos - Cheese pizza: Greek style LOTS of crispy cheese, well seasoned sauce, dough cooked through for how much cheese is on it. Very good and lived up to the hype.
Gator's - 2 X Medium $20 pickup: Neighborhood classic, Greek style with crispy cheese. Love the Gator's Hawaiian (adds knobs of feta cheese). Always good and cheap, but I avoid deli meats because they put it under the cheese. I like peperoni when cooked, not wet.
Sinatra's - Pizza by the slice with homemade dipping sauce: NY style pizza with good crisp and chew. Thin and tasty. Highly recommended
Noble Pie - Half Roni Half Cheezus: Amazing chew and crisp on pizza. High quality, high enjoyment, and high cost. Only tried once and satisfied.

Love Noble Pie, especially in the summer... we tend to host a lot and while the giant pizzas are a little much for my fam (and storing leftovers is a pain), a few are great for a group...
That said, your post prompted me to check out their website and for the first time, I'm seeing they offer a more manageable 13" option... Might have to get some this weekend
Lately, Crispy Crust in Woodbine has been the favourite in our rotation... Highly recommend!

I am in this area once a week, will definitely have to check it out!

Personally, I find that at even the good neapolitan pizza joints in Calgary, the sauce is the one element that lags compared to a good pizza in Italy. The crust is often close, the cheese isn't quite as good (because we tend not to use buffalo mozzarella) but can be close-ish...but the sauce itself just seems to always be a miss for me....either too acidic, or to sweet...or too something. It's the one thing that irks me about pizza here. Well that and the fact a €5 pizza there is $25 here, but that's a whole other conversation.

Definitely the crust and sauce. I really dislike garlic for some reason all of a sudden.
Crust is hard to make in Calgary, I’ve accepted that.
The sauce is HUGE and I have no idea how to make it better.
The cheese. If free oil comes out of the cheese and pools, it’s disgusting.thats why I didn’t care for the Connie ones. Giant pool of oil. Comes with a free gall bladder.
Savino is the best I can find but not quite there. Some dude in a food truck out of his back yard in Glendale and can only order on Instagram.

There's this couple on YT, the guy is Italian, he's astounded at the amount of garlic Italian and pizza restaurants in NA use.

Sinatra's looks like it's fairly new? I tried this today after seeing your review and they had a huge "now open" banner still hanging in front. Wow was that a great pizza. Nice New York style, wonderful taste between the sauce and cheese, and absolutely loved the crust.
That easily jumped to number two on my list of pizzas in Calgary behind Noble Pie. And honestly I'll probably go here more because you don't have that hassle of Noble Pie being right downtown and needing to wait to get in because they keep short hours and limited days to add artificial scarcity.

Ha, that was the first thought I had. But honestly, upon sitting on it further this place is an absolute gem in Calgary. It was just perfectly done and didn't skimp on any ingredients. Highly recommended to any Cp'rs looking for a new pizza to try. And I'm pretty discriminating in terms of pizza. Their smallest was 14" and it was just for me. I struggled immensely to stop eating because it was tasty. ended up leaving 1.5 pieces very reluctantly. usually on a 10-12" pizza I'll leave half these days.
Full disclosure though, New York is my style. I'm so happy TSXCman posted this.

Also they do slices from open to close if anyone lives close. That's not me as it's a trip to the marda loop/westbrook area (or whatever it is on 26th ave there). The slices looked so appetizing, they had some vodka meat pizza on the bottom rack and I almost ordered a slice despite having a whole pizza I couldn't finish, coming.
