He does seem very trusting. This is a guy that could get scammed repeatedly. And he's just announced himself to the world. Buckle up, Ryan.

anyone have thoughts on the crypto plunge this week. With bitcoin etc always thought of a hedge on government and fiat currencies, and a hedge on inflation. Why would tariffs spark a massive sell off of crypto?

Because it at it's heart isnt real yet to investors, when the #### really starts to hit the fan you want something you really can physically stuff under the mattress, now you can argue neither is money but we have a thousand years of trust in it, we have 5 or so years of crypto and most of that has been one scam after another, grifters cleaning out whole exchanges, it just isn't something anyone trusts their life with yet and this last week was a 'what do I need if capitalism completely collapses' type event

Liquidation to cover long positions in the general market as well

You can basically watch Sunday night the price movement of Crypto to predict Monday morning

It's speculation. But if you think 6% is a plunge, you should stay far far away from it.

Well it was 10% and bitcoin rebounded, but others did worse. Bitcoin is know for 40% drops so plunge was probably the wrong word.

I did hear the best theory today. Trump is going to say a bunch of negative things about crypto, say there is regulation coming etc. and once the market dives, he'll throw a bunch in and "change his mind" swinging it the other way... I couldn't argue against this theory.

Anybody else here been mining Pi Coin? Supposedly it's going mainnet live on Feb 21st.

Price spike today up to around $80 USD but i can see the price crashing hard when everyone goes to sell on day 1.

Maybe a decent buy opportunity if it gets listed on some of the big exchanges? For reference, there's 20 million people mining Pi coin and there's now 100 apps on the Pi Exchange, where people can purchase physical goods for Pi Coin already.

Perhaps this is a coin that could have some longevity. Excited to see what happens over the next few years. Thoughts?

It's an MLM, always has been.

The "mining" isn't actually mining. The "price" is IOU, which is artificially propped up by dummy wallets.

There is a 99.9999% chance that the price will tank to sub $10 within 24 hours of launch. The valuation on this thing is ridiculous.

Don't get me wrong, I have about 1,000 of the things so if it's even $20 I'm laughing but they're probably worth $500 at most, and that's if I sell fast.

There have been 6 billion Pi migrated to mainnet so far, so at even $20 per that would give it an FDV of $120b, which would immediately make it the fifth largest FDV of any token in current existence.

Absolutely no chance this thing is worth more than $1 per after the price crash.

That said, far stupider things have happened in crypto so that .0001% chance it isn't a turd will keep the dream alive.

Yeah I'm in a similar boat, I've accumulated quite a bit over the years but never really expected it to make it to mainnet. I'm not even sure how to go about selling them. You'd have to send them to a Binance wallet or another exchange I think? I have no idea.

I will say though, the fact that there's apps where you can already purchase things with your pi coin makes it IMO more useful than 99.9% of the other poop coins out there, so who knows? Would be quite hilarious if Pi ever became a top 10 or even top 20 market cap coin
