Sure, but I feel like you started all of this by coming into this thread and celebrating that zdanielle Smith just won the Nobel "Own the Ontario and Quebec Libs" prize...

If Carney wanted to seriously distance and differentiate himself from the current Liberal party and from Justin Trudeau it would be smart to not hire Gerald Butts to his campaign team. He also apparently has Katie Telford supporting his campaign and making calls on his behalf. Butts and Telford are Justin Trudeau and having the slightest connection to either of them is not a good look already.

Well, no, you’re speculating, and without any knowledge base to boot. And I don’t blame you, it’s hard to put the ideology aside, think for yourself, and admit what you don’t know and where you’re wrong. Maybe that’s just not in your wheelhouse, who knows.
A lot of other people aren’t speculating, they’re just providing the facts as they stand today, based on some 100 odd years of Canadian law. Easily findable and publicly available, too. But I get that in the world of alternative facts, those seem like the same thing.

Nice misinformation Rob Anders. I guess it's just 2nd nature for trolls like you. The £11,000 flight wasn't even for Carney. lol

Can you quote things properly and with context
Quote:
This included more than £11,000 on one flight for Mr Kashyap from Chicago to London – a cost described as “staggering” by Simon Clarke MP. The Tory politician said had “disturbing echoes” of the MPs’ expenses scandal.
However the Bank’s chair of court, Bradley Fried, has also since sought to correct the revelation over the £11,000 flight taken by Mr Kashyap, claiming the cost in fact covered four transatlantic airfares and has now been amended on the Bank’s website.
|
Like the information on the 11,000 flight was right in the article. It was 4 transatlantic flights. The quote did not contain any explanation points and was taken by one of his advisors.
Thank you for quoting content from an article and linking the article this time.

I think if we can conjure the willpower and spend the next 72 hours not responding to trolls or juvenile posts, maybe the AB, Canadian, and US politics threads will return to normal.

OK, rate the strategy. When Trump tariffs everything, he'll have quick push back from some Republican states, and he'll be making carve outs to keep senate and house votes for future legislation. So every time Trump exempts something, we put an export duty on that exemption, meaning he no longer gets the tariff, and the Americans don't get their price relief, and we get the extra duty. Good? Bad? Suicidal? I missed a loophole the size of Mercury?

I'm speculating that Smith has a novel legal argument she is going to deploy.
Considering that Canada is run from a document that appears to have been written with the My First Constitution workbook, I wouldnt be surprised if here was something there.

Have you ever flown overseas?
On short notice or peak times, that's not out of line.
A quick search on flights from Toronto to London show $4100 in premium economy if you had to fly out tomorrow for 2 nights.
The desperation to pick at anything is actually making Carney look really good.
If this sort of thing is the best you can find, he's gotta be pretty bulletproof.
