Assuming you are talking about the 400K for the advocacy groups? Are there no advocacy groups left in Alberta? How much of that money was being spend on the Executive directors and other staff of these groups compared to the ones that still get funding?

Agreed about the Manning thing.

NDP, notorious for cutting services
Here is the thing, services are funded by tax dollars, the majority of tax is paid by the top 10 percent, i forget what the number is 60/70 percent of tax revenue are paid by the top 10 percent.

Although the NDP ropes you in with the "no service cuts!" over the long term the NDP will shift more of the tax burden on the very people who already subsized most of these services you want for your family. Guess what these people just leave, they already leave in droves to the US, you know the old "NHL players don't want to play in Canada because of taxes and such", so guess what happens, the money needs to come from somewhere and since the NDP aren't gonna touch your services, you get to pay more ! Yay! So pick your poison!

This isn't a hypothetical, the evidence is overwhelming, look at wealth taxes in Europe.

The evidence is not overwhelming. You're not telling the truth. It is very much an unsettled question. For example, this study:

Quote:
The view that the rich are highly mobile has gained much political traction in recent years and has become a central argument in debates about whether there should be “millionaire taxes” on top-income earners. But a new study dispels the common myth about the propensity of millionaires in the United States to move from high to low tax states.

“The most striking finding in our study is how little elites seem willing to move to exploit tax advantages across state lines,” said Cristobal Young, an assistant professor of sociology at Stanford University and the lead author of the study. “Millionaire tax flight is occurring, but only at the margins of significance.”

In any given year, Young and his fellow researchers found that roughly 500,000 individuals file tax returns reporting incomes of $1 million or more (constant 2005 dollars). From this population, only about 12,000 millionaires change their state each year. The annual millionaire migration rate is 2.4 percent, which is lower than the migration rate of the general population (2.9 percent). The highest rates of migration are seen among low-income tax filers: migration is 4.5 percent among people who earn around $10,000 a year.

Look at the services in Europe. I don't think the point you are trying to make really backs up your opinion.

And I didn't think you'd care about services for the disabled, instead choosing to make up was to discredit the organizations that help people so the government can have a few more dollars to throw at their corrupt buddies and hidden contracts.

Also, just gotta throw out the "plight of the millionaires and billionaires!" nonsense. Oh no, they'll make 8% instead of 12% gains going forward! They must be simped for! Doing good work Mel, keep it up.

The tax burden is much more evenly spread out in Europe you just made my point. You will pay more for those services, why kill the golden goose? Why have disdain for the very people who are keeping your tax burden low for those services?

Why vote for a party that given enough time will have ding the crap out of you because taxing the rich more and more seems like an amazing idea when there is plenty of evidence that it reduces revenue. We have to compete on the world stage with jurisdictions with lower tax burdens.

For example: Netherlands -> 35.82% lowest tax bracket vs 15% + 10% = 25% (Alberta) + 21% VAT tax (5% Alberta) PLUS Netherland doesn't have basic personal minimums like Canada and Alberta does. first 15,000 and 19,814 respectively are tax free) They have tax credits but so do we.

It's valid point, money wasted is money wasted. I don't blindly assume anything and yes when looking that up, I see your legacy media handlers went with the sob story instead of providing any facts on why it happened and what alternatives you have, you make it sound like they cut all funding to disabled programs which they didn't, so why just those 3? Despite their contracts being up the goverment funded them another year in good faith? Did that funding go other groups? SO MANY QUESTIONS your media handlers didn't bother to answer

It's reality bro, just reality. Again why kill the golden goose? You got it good when the very people you despise picks up most the tab?

I am sure Jordan Peterson who still lives in Canada and pays taxes in Canada is paying a whole lot more into those services you crave since he has become popular. And yet you want to see him "not exist" really? You need his money Pickles

Mel is your position essentially that those who pay the most in taxes should have the most say in determining what programs are created/kept?

Guilbeault and feds ramming their production cap hasn't helped the relationship with the province. Goes along with their refusal for any more funding for road infrastructure across the country I guess.

Don't like not having a united front with Trump incoming but I guess this was always going to be the case with Trudeau dragging out his political life and "intention" to resign all the way til now.

Good lord OIOI. you are a master of moving goal posts and imagining things

My point to Pickles is why have disdain for people who keep his tax burden low, why wish they didn't exist, when that would mean he would have to pay more.

Why vote for a political party that given enough time will have to come collect more from him because revenues are down, because you know tax the rich!

The rich get taxed, they pay most of the bill, let's keep them here.

Cuts to services can happen cause Pickles gets a pretty good ride

What do you mean “we”? Why haven’t you left if you’re so wealthy and things are so bad here?

Seems more and more like we're going to be getting a "National Unity/Deal with Trump" election and not a Carbon Tax election. So much for PP's verb the noun slogans.

It hasn't. Health care is consistently underfunded.

I am not one to avoid a question, i haven't left because somethings are more important than money? And my profession is concentrated in California, where things are even worse than here, Canada is bad but California is real bad

Yikes more lost tax revenue heading to the states!

I've been there a bunch and it's ok? I guess it depends on where you live. San Francisco is a bit of a ghost town these days.. San Jose is just a weird weird place, everywhere in between the two cities is mostly for the billionaires. A lot of people i know live in Oakland and that place has gone down hill since that racist George Soros threw money at it.

Why do you think that chart proves anything? Just ebcause funding increased over the years means squat. What, in your opinion, is the correct level of funding? How much do hospitals need to provide the correct amount of service?

Be specific.

I think a lot of people have things that they feel are more important than money, which seems to something you’re rejecting because it’s maybe not the same things you value more than money.

Another serious question (since apparently our fans don’t appreciate our fun, catty back and forth and would rather us be boring), but why not move the business to somewhere like Texas? I’m assuming based on your cancer story your reason for staying is family based, why not move them down?

Most of my family is still in California, so I’m familiar with the things someone of your leaning would take issue with. I also prefer it here, but I don’t view things as “bad” here.
