I remain hopeful, mostly because of how wrong you guys usually are about these things to do with the oilers, that Jeff Skinner becomes the next Connor Brown. Brown did nothing all season, but was a very important part of the team in the playoffs. I admit it doesn’t look great for skinner right now, but I would have agreed the same about Brown this time last year. One of those things that time will tell. Nurse having a great season so far btw, Stuart Skinner needs to improve as well as Bouchard. Drai outside of McKinnon is the league mvp.

Yes, but how great would Foegele, Holloway and Broberg look on the team going into the playoffs????

Instead you're banking on CP being wrong and Skinner elevating his game two-three letter grades, when you had a few sure things and scattered them to the wind for no reason.

Why do you consistently come to a thread that is beyond reproach and rather disgusting? Aren't we beneath you for having a decades long, supposed "discrimination" thread?

I'm going to love watching Broberg and Holloway for the next ten years emerge as great players who the Oilers gave up to sign Jeff Skinner and his guaranteed 30 goals.

The Oilers are headed to another decade of darkness. We will see if they can pull off a few more future crushing moves at the upcoming trade deadline.

I guess there is always a third liner in the KHL Oiler fans can pin their future hopes on.

I keep holding out hope that Dissentowners proclamation that Mcdavid is 100% leaving is true. Feels less and less likely but I want to believe

It's funny that they have to pump what would be C+ or B- prospects in any other teams system as slam dunk top 9 nhlers.

Just standing pat this summer would have them in a much, much better spot from a future outlook.

RNH/Hyman/Ekholm could pass the torch to these kids and it could buy them a couple more years of competitiveness.

Instead they had to get their hands in that clay and do stuff. And we all know how that goes.

Still a complete circus buoyed by a couple lotteries.

Are we really wrong about these things? I admit I didn't think Draisaitl would re-sign with the Oilers but outside of that what are we wrong about? Since getting McDavid the Oilers have won as much hardware as the Flames and they haven't even eclipsed the Flames regular season feat of 111 points in 21/22. What are these great Oilers accomplishments that Flames fans missed?

Can't even win a division (while the Flames have won 2).

Spector or whoever it was declared them the best team in the league coming out of Christmas when they were still 3rd in the division lol.

Easy to say when you've been playing bottom half and tired teams for weeks.

Mcdavid hate aside, pretty nice move by Bedards family to host his wife in the box. Bedards family seem like very classy people from everything I've heard

Has Cory Perry asked to be scratched and sit in that box?

13 Connor Brown 29 F 19 2 4 6

You're right, I am surprised he did not win the Conn Smythe with those numbers...

Jeff Skinner a one-dimensional forward who now sucks at that as well is suddenly going to become a penalty killer in the playoffs.

Interesting take.

Worst team in the NHL for the last 15 years paid the guy NOT to play for them. The fact that anyone saw this as a good signing for the Oilers just blows my mind. Especially when you consider the guys they low balled.
