That’s interesting. Wonder if Miller would waive to go there.

Makes the most sense to get an asset line that back.
Makes no sense to trade him but whatever Miller can rip that dressing room apart b

Apparently he will only waive for NYR.

Really? Where’s that coming from? Surprised it’s only one team.

Saw it last week think it was Vancouver media but I may be mistaken.
Same people who said Vancouver rejected the trade offer for Miller.
Not sure what they are expecting for a 32 year old locker room problem.

Miller likely only waives for Rangers though, so I am assuming Friedman mentioned teams in west inquiring about Pettersson/Miller to not make it only about Pettersson

Strange. High state tax and a team that has imploded.

A team who has imploded trading for a guy who threw a bomb in his current room.
I’m read for the cinema.

More than Zibanejad, who might be done. As bad as his points are, his advanced stats are even worse.

Half the proposals we’ve seen over the past handful of months have him going to Buffalo or Winnipeg.
If Andersson is traded he could very well end up in a spot hes not terribly comfortable in. That’s not a huge stretch.
Life changing? I guess it depends what magnitude were relating this to but one way or the other, it will certainly be disruptive, and getting traded isn’t always a good thing.

So then he waits one year and chooses what city he gets to live in and make 60 million dollars. The players already spend half of the season on the road and usually their off season wherever they want to.

Ha, okay.
He gets to chose out of the teams that give him an offer. If Vegas or Florida, for example, is where he wants to go and they don’t give him an offer, he’s SOL. Andersson won’t get to pick his team. He will get to pick his team out of what is available. He could very well end up in a number of markets that aren’t at/near the top of his wish list.
What about his wife? Kids? I suppose that doesn’t matter either. He’s going to be rich anyway, right?
Taking these things into account and myriad of others that uninformed fans do not think of, perhaps Andersson is thinking Calgary is a pretty good spot for him. Don’t F with happy.

I know no one wants to play here and everyone wants to go to Florida but winning matters for guys as well. 2 guys just asked for trades in the NFL and NBA out of Miami. Jimmy Butler said he will go anywhere.
You have to think people think long hard now with natural disasters becoming a common occurrence in places like Florida and California.
5 years ago of someone asked me if I was an athlete with my choice of course I’d go to California. weather and blondes what’s not to love.

Flames continue to be very high on both Cozens and Rossi, I do believe they had checked in on Dach as well but that was prior to the surge MTL has had over the last 10 games.
Flames did check in on Pettersson and the price was extremely steep.
Wolf and the young guys have seemingly along with Huberdeau's resurgence found a way to keep this team in it and I think that's hand an impact on what Craig is doing.

Get one of em Conny please. I'm all for long term solutions and both of Rossi and Cozens are just that. Personally I'd rather Cozens but whatever.
I do enjoy the fact that whenever rumors are being floated around about the Flames, it's always about them looking for centers.

Troubling to read the last part. Being fooled by a team riding a hot goalie shouldn’t be how we operate. Also adds to the line Dreger said that Craig believes this team had the guts and nucleus to win. Laughable if he thinks that, nucleus?

Zibanejad is not waiving for Vancouver. The Rangers might be a mess right now but players never want to leave that team.

It doesn't appear to be the case where they are blinded by this dream of making the playoffs (thought I can be 100% certain) but more so that if they're in position to make the playoffs they aren't going to jeopardize it for the sake of doing so.
I do expect the UFA's to still be traded/used as deadline bait, but a guy like Andersson might not be moved at the deadline just because they can, I think for the right move it would be entertained, but not if they're in a playoff spot.
I have faith in Craig, I think he knows what this team needs long term.

Supporting a young goalie who looks to be a star is the furthest thing from being short sighted. The Flames Success falls on his shoulders. A good goalie can win you Stanley Cups, full stop.

Yeah I don’t think they should ship guys off for the sake of missing the playoffs.
The goal is the long term for the team we need to get it right this time. I just hope they don’t hold on to players if they are getting big offers for this dream of 4 playoffs games.
I get team do due diligence but Pettersson makes no sense for this team. He’s going to be 27 when next season starts. Just a bit troubling to hear that along with Dreger saying Craig believes he has the nucleus.
Thanks for sharing. I’ll trust Craig until he does something to jeopardize the long term.

Yeah they also need a talented team in front of them. What star goalie has won CUPS with patchwork rosters ? No #1C or D.
It’s extremely short sighted of they think this is a team that can win.
