That would be a shame as Kuzmenko has been full on useless this season. Easy choice to demote or scratch and see what the kid can do on the 3rd line. Hopefully Francis is wrong.
It seems consistent with how the team has handled call-ups in recent seasons. Unless there's a roster emergency and the player must play, they usually give him at least one game in the press box before putting him in.
I'm sure he'll make his debut during the upcoming road trip.

Hopefully we trade Ras for more futures and then fill his spot from within, then draft top 10 or even 5.
I'm not surprised he's not playing right away on Saturday.
This is a guy that that wasn't even really in one of the main groups of training camp, and who played no pre-season games this year. I remember saying at the time it was stupid the team didn't give Morin, Kerins, Battaglia, etc any games and stand by that again now. (I'm actually not sure Kerins has ever played a pre-season game...)
It's also his first NHL call up.
They will give him some days to practice with the team, and will probably work him into the line up in an easier match up against the Hawks on Monday.
Can anyone that has watched Kerins in the AHL speak to what his strengths/weaknesses are? His points in the AHL look great but don’t tell us what kind of player he is. Would you say he stands out in any particular way (shot, skating, hands, etc.)? Are they any comparable players we know?
He looks like a shorter and smaller Monahan.

He has to be in on Saturday. You don't lose a top 9 guy like Zary and bring up your AHL leading scorer just to have him sit. Especially against a division opponent.
