Great carrot for him with doing so well, and it should also be a great developmental step for him to get a look and see what the NHL is all about and to encourage him to work harder to be an everyday NHL'er! Whether he gets a cup of coffee, or lights it up and never looks back, he has been a great story-line this season!

Can anyone that has watched Kerins in the AHL speak to what his strengths/weaknesses are? His points in the AHL look great but don’t tell us what kind of player he is. Would you say he stands out in any particular way (shot, skating, hands, etc.)? Are they any comparable players we know?

If Kerins makes it I'll be impressed. It's not very often a late round pick ends up in the ECHL and then goes on to an NHL career.

Kerins should keep his #6 up on the big club. It'd be a fun change to see a lower number at FW. Edit: other than the #8 (Colborne the last one to use a low # at FW?)

I don't know, he wore #86 in camp ... the only other player in Flames history who wore it is Josh Jooris. Fitting number for a 6th round pick who went to the ECHL and worked his way up.

Yeah that's what I was guessing as well. Or maybe Kuzmenko is a healthy scratch again. Don't think they'll split up the top 2 lines. And the 4th line is a waste of time for an offensive player getting called up.

That would be a shame as Kuzmenko has been full on useless this season. Easy choice to demote or scratch and see what the kid can do on the 3rd line. Hopefully Francis is wrong.

Yeah, normally if a player is not in practice for maintenance, the player filling their spot will end up as a healthy scratch on game day. I also think Kuzmenko has been in the lineup the last 2 games? He's been better since coming back in the lineup.
